Just some weird stuff.
Mar. 10th, 2005 08:18 pmThere's a guy in my class that reminds me of Linden's boyfriend Chris. A guy that reminds me of Eileen's son Andrew. A girl that reminds me of Cori. Another girl that I just want to slap. Some Indian (as in from India) guy that just looks randomly like a cool guy. A girl with beautifully curly short hair that doesn't frizz and makes me jealous. A couple guys with rather snazzy Vet logo stuff on their labcoats. (One had a gecko and the other a dog paw print. Did I think of Padfoot? Noooo...) Also, there are two Sarahs in my hall, and one of them is so quiet and shy and sweet that you just don't want to say anything shocking because she seems so innocent.
I am so glad I'm not like some of the girls who had the Chem tutorial at 8, a three hour lab at 9, two lectures at 12 and 1, and another three hour lab at 2. I didn't have that last lab. Which meant I could go into town (and met up with Came on the bus, so we did our shopping together again; very helpful for her because of linguistic differences). But we were a bit late in getting back for dinner. (4:45, when it starts, is the best time as there's no cues and the food is hot) Eh, bien.
Had a meeting in the Bindaloe common room in which we got our t-shirts. And ice cream. And I won a chocolate bar. Because of course Elyshia asked a few questions for some bonus candy. And my logic is fucked up enough that it helped. If I were faster I could have got two, (vodka comes from potatoes) but it's not so bad as I don't care for white chocolate. (And I couldn't fucking remember Pnom-Pen or however you spell it) Anyway, the question had been were was the guy--I forget his name--helping Elyshia with the ice cream and stuff from. All we knew was South America. Actually, I didn't know that, except everyone kept saying South American countries.
So how did my logic work? He's north of Chile, and Peru. My Spanish teacher married a guy from Ecuador. So I say Ecuador. And I'm right. Wtf?!
That's like that one time we were playing the News Game in AP US History or maybe World History or even Psychology, and the question was about where some world summit meeting for something was held the year previous. I had never paid attention to where this summit was held. And it wasn't multiple choice. But what do I say, simply because I'd read Tale of the Body Thief? Rio de Janeiro. And I was right. Wtf?!
Mind you, I pick up information in the strangest of places. Like knowing about vodka being made from potatoes came from reading Pegasus in Flight. It's a story about parapsychics but that was in there. And I remembered it. (Possibly because I'm fascinated to know where certain alcoholic drinks are derived. Tequila comes from cactus, you know.) Mind you, it's great picking up random facts from books, especially fictional books that contain facts that are obviously true, and having that knowledge come in handy. Or it's funny, because people look at me strange and go, "How the hell do you know all that shit?"
Hi. My name is Hana, and I'm a bibliophile... Although, I'm the bibliophile other bibliophiles come to hate. I'm the kind that will write in books, and dog ear them, and eat/drink while reading them so there's spillage or grease marks, and generally love the books to death. (I can think of a certain Librarian who would happily kill me for taking the books off the shelves where they belong. Ook.)
*snickers* Running joke in the other halls about our halls is that we're like an 18-hole golf course... So what's our idea for a design to go on our t-shirts? A golf flag with our room number on it. We're so mature.
We watched a movie last night called Honey. This meant skipping Lost, but I was okay since I've seen that episode. The only thing I hated was that I'd come into the empty lounge, and changed the channel to watch Scrubs before it started, only to have Annalise come in a few minutes later and change the channel to this other show on me without asking. So I bitched and whined and got to watch Scrubs. Except for a part where they switched over again to show the other show to Came. And I wasn't paying attention at the end as I was detailing last week and last night's Lost episodes to Lucy. But yeah, then we watched Honey. Was kind of funny when we were booking it (so the tv would automatically switch to that channel when it started if it wasn't already there), we saw that someone had booked McLeoud's Daughters.
First time I saw that title in the guide, I wondered if it was some spinoff series to do with Highlander. Alas, it is not. It's some Aussie show set in the outback, a farm of some sort or other, and oh! the drama. Kill me now. Hence me being here in the computer labs being anti-social (better than hiding in my room). And spewing random thoughts. :D
Oh, hell, why not? A schedule, of sorts.
( So you have an idea of my classes )
Fin.
