So there's this meme...

1.) You hit "Random Article" over at Wikipedia. The title of the article is the name of your band.
2.) You hit "Random Quotes" over at The Quotations Page. The last four words of the last quote on the page is the title of your album.
3.) You hit "Explore Last 7 Days" over at Flickr. The third picture is the cover of your album.
4.) Use photoshop or whatever to moosh it all up together and post.

Now, I don't know about you, but I had to click random article a few times before I could get something that wasn't some strange foreign name, already a band name, or some school district or another. Maybe that's cheating, but cheat I did.

Ain't it purty?

Friday I talked to my mum on the phone for the better part of an hour. Was a good conversation. Think she can tell how happy I am now. After that I went over to Ange's and we had drinks and chilli con carne as we watched movies like Evolution, True Lies, and Hott Fuzz. It was a fun night.

Then Saturday, Ange, Dad, Suzy, and their friends Eileen, Colin, and Ettie, and I all went on a picnic at Bridal Veil Falls and and afternoon at Raglan beach. Plus ice cream in Raglan itself. Another fine day, 'til my allergies went nuts and I had an early night.

Anyway, just spoke on the phone with my darlin'. That was nice. Will talk with him more after dinner. Which is now.

In a bout of cleverness, I went and lost my ID in town somewhere, not this past weekend, but the one before that. So not only do I need to replace my US Passport (it's expired, fucking hell) but now I gotta do something about the NZ one, too. Goddamnit.

I popped the back tire of my bike, haven't taken the time to see if it's a simple fix or not, but that's another thing not in my favour.

And moneywise, well... even taking into account the money Ben owes me, I'm still paying some more money to buy his fridge off him. He's moving out, and it was easier to buy it then and there, than faff about sorting a new one or renting or whatever. But he's also taking his bond back, so I'm going to have to shell out money for a new bond, and, well.. Clayton looks to be moving out soon too, if he can. So I gotta find me not one, but two new flatmates.

In the last two weeks, I've had texts from three guys who I've been with in the past, but haven't seen/spoken to in a while for whatever reasons. And they mostly had nice things to say to me. Is there something in the air...?

Met up with a coworker from Woolies on Saturday night, it being a birthday bash thingy she was having, where I was introduced to a bunch of people I didn't know, but two of the turned out to be the aunt and uncle of a girl I work with at Mitre 10 Mega. I was the youngest there, but I got along well with them, and, well, the guy closest my age was nice, interested, and at one point bought me a rose before turning around and saying that it didn't compare to my beauty. *smirks* I didn't sleep with him.

...yet...

Oh, a parcel arrived for me on Friday from mum, with some very nice clothes, including a Harley Davidson t-shirt that I wore on Saturday night, along with my skirt with studs down the sides. Hee.

And that's... about it, for now. I'm caught between happy about good stuff, and worrying about money stuff... and when I'll be able to afford that computer *le sigh* At least I picked up a shift on Labour day, which pays time and a half and should help things just a 'lil bit. Plus, well, yeah, got my cousin Dimitri coming visiting this Friday, and it will be nice to see him again.

Fin.

ETA: There must be something about me right now, 'cause even the bartender at Uno's was generous enough to serve me Jack and Coke that was more JD than coke. (They don't bother to ID me there, which means I've either been there often enought they recognise me and know I'm old enough, or I've hit that stage where I look old enough... *shrugs*)

So what sort of crazy shit have you been up to lately, Hana? Oh, you know... booze, sex, etc... Actually, no sex. No sex since... June? Although not for lack of trying, at least, recently. Heh.

Anyway, one flatmate, Ben, went off to Aussie for two weeks that's now become for a month, and so help me god, if he stays any longer, I'mma be even more pissed. 'Cause, see, when he left he didn't leave his share of the rent, so Clayton and I had to cover it, and now we've got to cover another payment... I mean, that's a lot of money he owes us and I'm not entirely sure how he expects to pay us back, especially when he has no job that I'm aware of. Very slightly upset about this, am going to have to give him a stern talking to when he returns.

Other flatmate, Clayton, had a girl come over from Aussie to visit him. She's English originally. Her name's Lauren, but she looks like Keira Knightly. Was really cool to hang out with, and gave me someone to get drunk with on a handful of occasions, along with Clayton's sister Nelly and Nel's mates. Anyway, that's how I've discovered red wine is bad for me, and went back to the bourbon. And we went out on the town a few times.

Was pretty awesome last Thursday, in my brand new desert camo pants (from the Warehouse of all places, zomg)... everyone loved my pants. They fit me so well as well as being very striking. It was amusing as hell to run into a couple of the upper management guys from Mitre 10, and one of them just gave me this complete look up-and-down in my outfit.... I think it forced a sort of re-evaluation of his initial opinion of me, to see me out of uniform and work. Made me giggle, anyhow.

And then last Saturday, in a state of booze-bliss, Lauren and I snogged in one the many bars we visited, to the entertainment of some male onlookers. We'd completely forgotten anyone might be looking in our direction. But still, funny that we made some men happy with a little kiss.

Work has been all right, with its ups and downs and brainless moments. And the weather has been improving, methinks. It's warmer, anyhow. Most of the time. I could have done without the rain on Friday and Saturday, since I had straightened my hair for the first time in weeks. Thankfully didn't get it wet, but there'd been enough moisture in the air to make it start curling, so Saturday night before hitting up town, straightened it some more.

Oh, yes, efforts to get laid. Thursday night I was introduced to the chef that Clayton works with at Lombardi's (a cafe/restaurant v. close to home). Young guy, only 18, but quite good looking. Unfortunately, either I'm too old for him, or my attempts at getting friendly weren't obvious enough, or something, but yeah... all I wanted was a one night stand, or something, but I guess he's just not keen. Ah well, I can still admire the pretty, when I see him.

<3 And that's my update, for now. I've been checking up on my f-list, although sadly neglecting to comment. Sorry. :(

Deja vu

xans: Lego minifig woman with red hair in black robes with a green lightsaber. It has been stylized to look like it was drawn rather than photographed (Inner Squint)
Today I was looking at my f-list and I had this total moment of deja vu. I'm sure I had a dream once, about reading my f-list (sometimes I dream about livejournal. I'm weird, mmk?) in this new layout and colour scheme. Given that said dream was long before I ever conceived of changing to this...? Yeah, uncanny. But not the first time I've had a dream come true.

The odd thing about my precog dreams is that they usually concern everyday situations--it's never really been something significant that I've dreamed about it, and then gone, "Woah" all Neo-style when I witness it happen before my eyes. And I never can tell a dream is actually a precog, in fact, often times the dream lays half-forgotten until such time as the event occurs. And then I get this awesome sense of deja vu.

I've never really cared to try and focus the ability, or to try and be more aware of it in action... I prefer to let my mind do its thing. Like I said, it's not as if I've ever dreamed about something big, or that I can predict the future in any way. I simply have these moments where it turns out part of me knew what was coming long before the rest of me sat up and took notice.

Anyway, it was just a little thing that made today rather cool. Although I was already feeling rather good, since last night I--how does the Purity Test put it?--"gave a back or neck rub or massage with an ulterior motive" and it totally worked. *smirks* Tequila was involved. And other alcohol, too. For shame, Hana.

Actually, I've been thinking about looking into massage therapy classes, maybe. I mean, mum's a massage therapist, but I really don't remember a whole hell of a lot from her, which is terrible. It also shocked me to realise recently, that I haven't had a full body massage from her since I was...14? A couple back/neck rubs with her Hands Which Know No Mercy, but no, I sort of fell out of practice at playing massage therapist because she wasn't doing it very often herself. Mum's really good at it though, and I know I used to do fairly well. I can do better, which is why I'm thinking classes might be a good plan, sometime in the near future.

Hi, body? Thanks so much for waking me at 6:30 on a Monday morning. My bladder wasn't nearly as full as your signals implied. That kinda stuff just ain't on, body. Not cool at all. Bad enough it took forever to fall asleep because my feet were damn near freezing half the night, since apparently adequate circulation is for freaks.

Also, I think my tastebuds have become coffee snobs, or something. We only have instant, but I'm pretty sure it was Moccona (however you spell it), which is like... top of the line. It's good instant coffee. It makes this Nescafe stuff damn near impalatable. I'm not really a coffee addict, but now I seriously want some better cofee. Bloddy hell.

Several years back I started this eensy hobby involving cutting words out of magazines with the intention to make pretty story/poster things. I've finally been organising all the words, just to find out what I have, and to see if I get inspired to create something. Anyway, in the case of several words, I have repeates. 'Specially little words like, "the," "in," "at," "to," etc., etc. (Hell I've even got three of that) Anyway, I was somewhat shocked (and amused) to discover I have 87 "the"s of varius fonts and sizes. I just hope I can come up with something quirky. It's damn tedious, no matter what, and I have to be very, very careful of breezes not screwing my shit up. *nods*

Anyway, better stop with this, and shower and do normal Monday things.

Edit: Possibly I'm in line for some wacky PMSing, because last night I had a craving for beer of all things. (Thankfully, there was some in the cupboard to satisfy my thirst.)

There was this billboard for Waikato draft, the one by the Wharehouse in Hilcrest, and it was really strange when I took a moment to actually read it. One side says: "Honking the horn," and in smaller text, "Our courting." It took me a little thinking to get it, but, sadly, it is true. I go for walks often, and, particularly when I'm dressed nice, but even when I'm not, there is many a time when I get honked at by some passing car. Because our boys don't seem to have ever seen women before, or something.

Anyway, I just got emailed this in a fwd from my mum:

*snicker* Good beer, that.

Okay, so, um, Saturday was my best mate [livejournal.com profile] pandoras_evil_t's birthday. Her 21st, in fact. Big shindig like thing planned. Ish.

Well, dinner at Valentines where we all dressed v. v. nice and somehow managed not to get pished or spend a hell of a lot on the bar tab. And then Damo, Ange, Anita and I were off out on the town (after Ange and I did some creative changing in the car to clothes more fit for bar crawling).

But, let me start at the beginning.

Early afternoon found me frustrated and swearing, as my attempts at ironing the wrinkles out of my dress appeared to be... nonexistant. Given that it's a dryclean only dress and I had to use the low setting on the iron, I mean, I don't know. I don't know a fucking thing about ironing, but the wrinkles were not fucking off. And then Ange texted me asking if I wanted to come over early, watch some SG-1, and still hang out while she and Damo were off at Zuki's where she was getting all sorts of pampered.

I still hadn't straightened my hair. But okay. Shoved things into a bag, and headed on over. A couple streets away from her place, I looked down and, to my shock, disovered a Samsung mp3 player that, while clearly having been run over at least once (the headphones were crushed) was still intact and working. And whoever it was that lost it has a fairly decent taste in music. Now I just gotta find myself the software, somewhere, somehow...

Watched SG-1. Ange came home in time to just about cry over Daniel dying after pulling a Spock. And then we had a minor Danielgasm at the special features tribute to him. Hee.

Dinner was fine. She got lots of cool gifts, and I was almost (but not quite) tempted to try the baby octopus they had on offer... but they were just a little too disturbing. And Ange wasn't nearly drunk enough for us to trick/dare her into trying one. No matter.

First bar we were at, decided to play some pool, doubles--Me and Anita vs. Ange and Damo, which was mostly us against Damo. Ange had only played pool once before, and, well, she's never really been known for her gaming prowess. But it's not like Anita and I kicked ass. We did win the first game, and then rather spectacularly lost the second game. And owe our final victory to Ange, although the chances of us winning that one seemed a mite better than theirs, any how.

Highlights of the game include:
Ange sinking the white ball plent of times, but the only times she sunk any other ball was the black ball to bring them, and then us, to victory.
Damo being the only one to knock the white ball off the table.
Damo aiming for either two of balls and bouncing the white over both of them straight into the middle pocket.
Not to mention a couple of shots I made that, well, it was a fluke I actually sunk a ball. But still, we had a lot of fun.

Also, while we were playing, we were... approached by a group of guys on a Stag night. They each had a list of things they had to do, and, well, we helped them out a little. Um. I helped them out most. See, the groom needed to acquire a pair of women's panties.

So I sold mine to him for $20.

And then I ended up giving up my pantyhose to one of the other guys, while Ange gave another her stockings.

This may be whiy I oughtn't go out on the town anymore. I do crazy stuff that involves a fair amount of shamelessness, and, usually, a lacking of sobriety. I go and do it stone fucking sober. Go me!

We wandered around a couple other places, but the music was rather shite and I didn't have a real hankering for getting pished. Also, I forgot to think about the fact that straightening my hair and not wearing my glasses makes me not resemble my passport photo so much. Once place I had to give my name and birthdate and have both bouncers look at me vs. my picture. Anyway, we went home about one something in the morning.

Slept late; missed Anita leaving but found $20 she dropped by the door. Um, decided to watch Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure 'til Ange and Damo got up. Not long afer they got up and the movie finished, we went to the Base to look into acquire Season 6 of SG-1. Well, first we had lunch at BK, where I had possibly the best burger I have had in ages. The Ultimate Double Whopper? It's... a proper size burger. With, like, all sorts of tasty ingredients. I was very satisfied.

Anyway, Wharehouse at the Base didn't have Season 6, but the Hilcrest store did, so we went over there and got it, plus a couple of movies, and some meat for dinner, then we went to Ange's mum's. She'd taken most of Ange's presents and the leftover cake home just so we didn't have to worry about them in the car while we were out on the town. Grabbed all that stuff and then went back to their place.

Yay, watched the first couple discs... had kinda forgotten how cute in a lost puppy kind of way Corin Nemec/Jonas Quinn can be. Also was amused at the return of McKay, after the poor guy got shipped off to Siberia (although he was being a right royal prick, that time). Still, I love me some SG-1.

And now I'm caught up on my f-list. Yay.

PEOPLE & THEIR DRINKS )

Lost Black Books DVDs have been found, yay.

Am home from all that oh-so-fun babysitting (well, mostly fun, except for Savannah, and Wednesday when we also had Izayah and I got a fucking headache that took two neurofen and a bottle of water to get rid of). Which is nice. Did chore type stuff this morning, and actually joined Dad and Suzy for lunch, which I haven't done in some time.

Dad washed his van. Funny thing, I never really paid attention, compared to everyone else who pointed out that a white van is not meant to be green or, as dad discovered while he scrubbed it down, had lichen growing on it. Reminds me somewhat of the van Gary owned when we first moved back to NZ, and it had moss growing inside along the windowseals.

Discovered via [livejournal.com profile] dduane that apparently the best way to kill all the bacteria and stuff in sponges is to microwave it. Cool.

...just discovered I missed a fingernail to be trimmed... cut them and my toenails yesterday and just now realised I'd not got this one? Oops. Random crazy me.

Computer is fussy fritzy and could crash at any moment, so I better post this 'fore I lose it all, even if it was autosaved mebbe a minute or so ago.

So Eileen kindly took pictures of me last Saturday, "before" and "after" pictures from getting my hair cut (and straightened). I... got a lot of hair cut. It was a huge pile. Kinda wish I'd managed to get a picture of that, too. Ah, well. Anyway, Eileen said she'd get the pictures to me by Wednesday, on a CD, but... it's Thursday, and no CD. Damnit.

Not going to push her about it, though. She was nice enough to take pictures in the first place. My f-list can wait to see the effects, methinks.

Nothing else happening at all, really. All my Christmas candy has been consumed...no more chocolate to satisfy my cravings. Damn.

Oh, yes, this is my first entry of the year. Woo. I totally failed to get drunk on New Years, despite an abundance of Jack Daniel's, tequila, sambuca...yeah. There was alcohol. I just wasn't drinking it. And I totally tuned out the ramblings and confessions of Ange and Jas'n, who were pished. But then, I was trying to watch more Stargate SG-1, damnit!

We also finished watching Firefly and Serenity also. Plus the outtakes. So many more lj icons make sense to me now. Liek whoa. :D

Fin.

Okay, yeah, totally still alive and all that jazz. Why no posts?

Well... who wants to hear about my Christmas? I mean, really. *shrugs* There was family, food, waaaay too much sugar, a remarkable restraint with the booze, and, of course, presents. I think I managed to do all right and getting the right gifts for people. Although Iain is the hardest fucking person to get presents for, EVER. Shockingly succeeded just fine with my dad...

Anyone remember Charlie Bear? 'Cause Ange got me another bear to go with him. So far, unnamed, and I'll try to get pictures up, too. If I had Charlie here, I'd get pictures of the two of them together. It's just, Buddy (dad's poodle) has this crazy idea that Charlie is, in fact, a toy for him. Much the same way he'll fixate on Suzy's rubber duckies, particularly the ones with squeakers.

Speaking of Ange, I've been spending a whole bunch of time over at her place the last few days, as we've been watching Stargate SG-1 all over again, as she acquires each new season. Well... actually she's only got Season's 1 and 2 so far, but, yeah. We've been watching them. And, since I didn't get the one thing I really asked for--NOT that I'm complaining. The presents I did get are wonderful, it's just that what I asked for I did not receive, and that is okay, because I promptly went out and bought it for myself--NOW that I have the money to do as such.

Firefly.

And Serenity.

Hee. Can't wait to watch it all.

Busy busy busy fucking weekend. And thus, when I went to Andrea's last night and downed the better part of a bottle of sparking rose, and then helped her finish off a bottle of white wine...

Yeah, I got pretty fucking pished. And I fell asleep on her couch. But, hey, no hangover--although I did wake up sometime in the wee hours, nearly fell over my pillows on the floor on my way to the fridge for a bottle of water. So I was just suddenly thirsty somewhere in the night.

And oohhhh I don't work tomorrow, do I? Or Wednesday. Yay! Days off are good. :)

It's crashed on me three times today. Stupid thing.

Dad found a couple old sheets of stickers. It's Trolls. Remember the litlte troll figurines? And the ones with jewels on their bellies? Yeah, those cute/ugly little things.

Talked to my mother. It's snowing. My Godmother is over visiting at the moment and she was so excited. She's not seen snow or anything. She picked the perfect time to visit the States, really. Got to gorge on Thanksgiving dinner and everything.

We didn't have one here. Although dad did make a pumpkin pie. Oh, and an apple crumble for me and Andrew 'cause I don't like pumpkin pie and Andrew's got major dairy allergies. Andrew brought over a marshmallow cake, but I don't like it very much. Or not at all.

Have v-neck sunburn 'cause I'm le idiot. It was like, the one part--no, no, my hand is sunburned too I think--still, the few bits of skin showing yesterday and they got burned. Fucking hell. *wears sunscreen*

Went over to Andrea's last night. We had a very nice dinner. Drank wine. Watched Black Books episodes until 8:30. Then Andrea laughed as I yelled at the tv and mocked Horatio Caine. And then we watched Numb3rs. The pair of us melted when Larry asked Megan out. It was geekily sweet.

Am thinking about doing something special on the 15th of January. That will be my half-birthday. I didn't do anything spectacular for my 21st, so maybe I should do something then. As well as celebrating Ange's 21st in Feb. We're going to get so very drunk, I can imagine.

Switched in a bunch of new icons again. Quel surprise.

1. open your i-tunes library
2. put it on shuffle.
3. press play.
4. for every question, type the song that's playing.
5. when you go to a new question, press the 'next' button.
6. don't lie and try to pretend you're cool.
7. don't skip songs

Err, I confess, I did, in fact, skip a song because it was "Track __" and I couldn't tell who it was or even guess the name of the song. A total mystery. So... yeah. Otherwise I didn't skip.

Oh, yeah, and it was Winamp rather than iTunes, but, still... music playlist. Whatever.

01. opening credits: Mantua (R&J Soundtrack II)
02. waking up: The Show Must Go On (Moulin Rouge Soundtrack)
03. first day at school: The Offspring -Untitled Track 15 Greatest Hits
04. fight song: Fatboy Slim - Because We Can (Moulin Rouge Sountrack)
05. breaking up: OPM - Heaven is a Half Pipe
06. happiness: Smashing Pumpkins - Zero
07. life's okay: Cardigans - My Favorite Game
08. mental breakdown: Foo Fighters - Fraternity
09. driving: Foo Fighters - Hey Johnny Park
10. flashback: The Strokes - Last Nite
11. getting back together: Incubus - Aqueous Transmission
12. wedding: Lenny Kravitz - Where Have You Been?
13. birth of a child: white Stripes - Fell in Love With a Girl
14. final battle: Mundy - Escape From Mantua (R&J Soundtrack II)
15. death scene: Chemical Brothers - Dream On
16. funeral song: Goo Goo Dolls - Iris
17. end credits: Placebo - Scared of Girls

Am amused that not only did I have "Mantua" but "Escape From Mantua" show up on the list completely randomly.

Last night I had dinner at Ange's, we drank up the last of their vodka cruisers and the small bottle of JD she got me for my birthday. And I didn't get drunk. In fact, I barely reached relaxed/tipsy/happy. I would have thought the amount of alcohol consumed would be enough, but, err, apparently not. Maybe all that drinking in the past with Glenn and Co. has upped my tolerance or something. Or maybe I just didn't drink fast enough to really up the blood in my alcohol.

We watched A Midsummer Night's Dream. I'm convinced Christian Bale must be a vampire, or something, 'cause I always get this sense that he's got fangs if he'd just bare his teeth. *laughs* Whatever. Was being a total perve about nekkid Dominic West (Lysander). Also, total love for Rupert Everett, with all the lovely skin showing, and something about the glitter on the skin that was... distracting.

I like shiny. :D

[livejournal.com profile] diea I'm sorry! I completely spaced, and here's why:

Thursday, Pat hands me this ticket to the 80's Prom at The Establishment that this radio station was throwing. Anyway, said 80's Prom was last night. So cue rearranging my whole day around getting set up for that.

Not to mention last week I got moved out of my room for a little bit and it was time to move everything back. And get it just the way it was before. Anyway, I kept my online forays to a short spate in the morning, rather than afternoon. :(

Then there was a trip to my brother's. I had a couple reasons to, for instance, we hadn't seen each other since coming back from the wedding about a month ago. Also, I had a bunch of CDs there and it was killing me to get songs stuck in my head and not have the CDs to listen to and get said songs OUT of my head. And then there was the fact I needed to grab a few choice items to create the perfect 80's look.

Anyway, the afternoon was spent doing laundry. And fussing with my CDs to find that perfect order for them. Hence, not online to chat with [livejournal.com profile] diea. (Ooops! I feel so bad that I forgot.) I was very distracted and excited about the 80's Prom though. The German girl Katja was going with me, too. So, sorting out my outfit and making sure I had clean clothes, yada yada yada...

Cooking tea (one of my better meals) and reassuring Katja that she had plenty of time to get ready. I hung out with Glenn for a bit, even fooled around online and sent a link off to [livejournal.com profile] blue_raven that I thought she'd like. About 8:30 and I got around to doing my make-up: oodles of green eye shadow and red lipstick...

So, outfit was: the black and white stripey socks, witch's shoes, short black skirt with studs down the side, white tank top with long sleeved green mesh thingy and little white overtop thingy that goes with the tank top (I'm not very good at explaining, but I have posted pictures of the combo before...not with the mesh, but ultimately, the effect was very 80's-esque). I also had a sideways ponytail held by a green scrunchy, long dangly earrings (not plastic, alas, but still, helped) and my black wool hat. [livejournal.com profile] shiseiji ought to know the one I'm talking about. It was perfect. Plus there was my leather jacket which gave it a sort of Top Gun effect.

So yeah, we got there, got our wee vouchers for one free drink... and holy mother of fuck was there a lot of girls. Like... mostly girls. Very few boys. Even fewer who could have been both cute and single (I was looking for Katja's sake, honest! :P) and likely to notice one girl out of the multitudes. Eh, bien...

The music was good. While many who were there couldn't possibly have been able to remember the 80's, it was still... interesting. Time flew, really, and before I realised, it was midnight. Our Prom Prince was some random guy, no idea who, I mostly remember that our Prom Princess was a man dressed as a woman. :D

About then I asked Katja if we could leave, 'cause my feet were killing me. And of we went, me hobbling more than walking. So, good girl that I am, I was in bed by 1, heh. And woke up with my alarm at 8, refreshed and ready to face a new day.

And later today I'm off to a BBQ at Grant's flat. That shall be interesting, to say the least. Plus, y'know, reasonably assured of sex at some point afterwards. :P And that's all that matters.

I was walking back to my place yesterday and I got wolf-whistled at from a passing van. *was amused* It's been a while since that's happened. I also wasn't surprised, considering I was wearing a short skirt, knee-high socks, and had my hair down since I straightened it on Thursday.

Drank a bunch of bourbon and coke with Glenn and Paul... possibly volunteered to be a cook/bartenter/slave on a sailing expedition. Forgot to have dinner. Had fun watching Distraction UK. Good show, that.

Seeing Grant today. Hopefully he's feeling better--he was a bit depressed about Thursday's playreading. It's gotta be hard, sharing his creation like that and having them tell him what's wrong with it.

Switched in new icons. Again.

Okay, so that movie is out today. Down here. But I will probably wait 'til Tuesday to see it. But it shall be awesome if I can. 'Specially after what [livejournal.com profile] diea told me. Hehehehehe.

Anyway, yesterday I was at the library in the morning, but it was just so sunny and nice that I had to talk a walk along the waterfront and stuff...but later in the afternoon, I did go back to the library and I happened to settle down on the same couch I'd been sitting on in the morning, although with a different book. Well, this guy approaches me and felt the need to come up and say 'hi, couldn't help but notice you're in the same spot now that I saw you in four hours ago have you been here this whole time?' and it was just kinda weird, but funny, and he wasn't creepy.

I got kind of distracted at one point, 'cause I happened to look over and see, of all people, this girl from Palmy that used to make me think of [livejournal.com profile] mikazuki. I mean, they don't even look alike, and the girl I'm pretty sure is English, but for some reason last year she used to give me Cori-vibes. Ehhh. I was surprised to see her, but couldn't say anything 'cause this other guy Grant was talking to me.

Also, when I was out on my walk along the waterfront, I got a bit of a fright when I felt the shockwave and then heard the bang of a cannon. Well, up on this bluff they were doing 21 guns for the signing of the Governer-General or somesuch. Didn't know it was going to happen but was kinda cool to see and really fun to feel the shock of each shot.

Glenn, the guy who looks after the place I'm staying at, said to me that if I washed this huge pile of dirty dishes in the kitchen, he and Grant (not the same Grant from the library) would make me a chocolate cake. He was saying it kind of in jest, but I said, "All right, you're on," and washed all those dishes. But it turns out, the cake is not made, but still in it's box. He gives me the box of cake mix and three eggs.

...okay, slight problem where there's no cake tin and I also need a measuring cup... so off to the supermarket I go with intent to buy a disposable cake tin, but they didn't have on and a non-stick thing was only $5. I also got some chocolate chips and some chilli powder, for added fun. If you've never tried it, do, because chocolate and chilli actually make a delicious combination.

So I mix up the cake and everything. It's Betty Crocker Devil's Food and on the box it says there's ready made frosting, right? But... there was no frosting. Fuckers. I'm going to call them about it, too, 'cause it's all over the box that there should be. I ended up melting some more chocolate chips and spreading that on top of the cake instead, but damnit, there should have been frosting.

Well, since Glenn and Grant did not, in fact, make me the chocolate cake, I have every intention of teasing Glenn about it... like, sit there eating some and say, "MMmm, this cake's delicious, Glenn. Oh, you want some? But you didn't make it! Oh no, that'll be a bourbon and coke for each slice, thanks." :P I'll make him pay, anyway, 'cause I know he wants some.

Hee.

Well! Yesterday was one very long, very cool day.

Got woken up quite early by dad, only, well, it was earlier than necessary but what the hey. I took the time to eat breakfast, anyway. Who knew in the next few hours when I'd next get a decent meal. (Really late, is when...) Anyway, off to some place to grab the flowers, and then dad and Iain dropped me and the flowers off at Suzy's eldest daughter Carla's. The boys then went and did things like fuss over the arrangement of chairs in the church and all that.

As for me... I got to have my hair straigtened, and the ends trimmed even courtesy of Carla the hairstylist. Then Laura, the next oldest daughter, did my nails. It didn't take her very long because my nails are in fairly good condition. Hee. Oh, and through this all we sat around drinking sparkling WHITE wine. Spillage would not be a fiasco. And it wasn't. Anyway, there was a girl over, Hannah, to do make-up but it was easy enough to do my own. The end results were "stunning" according to witnesses.

About 11 or so, I slipped into my (black) dress, did up my (black) fur wrap with a green broach, and put on my (black) shoes...wearing my black and white knee high socks. 'Cause it looked awesome. And I wore the ruby necklace dad gave me for my 21st and a pair of dangly earings with garnets. And when dad finally saw me I asked, "Is this enough colour for you?" because, despite having agreed on the black dress and everything a whole YEAR ago, he wasn't able to visualise how the little bits of colour would be more than adequate in fitting with the theme of things.

So, in the whole whole party of attendants, everyone wore as such: Suzy, the bride, wore a red dress, had a white fur wrap (that she didn't wear down the aisle but was needed in the chilly breezes at the gardens taking pictures) and sparkly whatsit shoes. Dad wore a black tux (long tails at the back, very cool), a red tie.... cowboy hat and possibly cowboy boots. Iain wore a matching tux with a green tie. I stood slightly taller than him in my shoes, hee, and I've already described what I wore.

Carla, Laura, and Rachel--Suzy's girls--wore green dresses...Laura's style was identical to mine, while Rachel and Carla had identical dresses in a strapless style...white fur wraps with broaches like mine, and shoes the same style as mine but goldy/silver instead of black. Savannah, that's Laura's daughter, was in a red dress with a white fur jacket held with a red broach, and shoes in the same style and colour as the girls. She also carried a little bag holding Suzy's glasses and such. Carla's little boy Izayah was in a smart little tux (that he got dirty at the gardens, lol) and he carried the rings. Amarah, only 19 months, was the cutest little thing in her wee red dress and white fur coat.

So we were running a little late trying to get all ready to go to the gardens to take pictures before the wedding. And I was hoping and crossing my fingers that any and all rain would hold the fuck off because my hair, damnit, just got straightened! Anyway, off to the gardens we went.

Well it's a good thing we hit up the Japanese garden first, because it meant we were under shelter when a light rain fell. It stopped, and off to the Chinese garden we went. Yadayadayada...then to the Italian renaissance garden. Iain hadn't actually seen the Indian garden, so he took a wee peek before we hit the Italian garden. That was all well and good, but by then it was 12 something or other and we were hungry. The parentals were taking forever with some set of pictures, and we asked if we were needed or could we bugger off to get some food before the ceremony.

Last thing we needed was a chorus of rumbling tummies from the front of the church in the middle of the wedding. We didn't have time to stop anywhere on the way, but we snuck some food off the afternoon tea tables before we had to go in. And thus...

Music played, everyone stands...the visiting pastor from Suzy's church walked in first, then Iain and me together, followed by Savannah and Izayah, then Carla holding Amarah, followed by Laura, and lastly Rachel. Full minute of music before Dad and Suzy made their entrance together. I think mostly I was interested in the reaction of Eileen when we finally got to the end, 'cause she hadn't seen me all prettied up and was definitely impressed. Big crowd--140-170 or something like that, and there was maybe a handful that I knew so getting reactions from them were the most important. Hee.

The ceremony was good. Enough light moments and not too heavy on the word of God and such... 'cause, nothing against God and all that, but my eyes would have glazed over if one went to far with it. There was this funny story of 'Elain and Roger' while the registry was being signed... Dad and Suzy with Laura and Iain as witnesses--funnily enough both those children are the left handed ones--using MY pen. Hee.

And finally it was all over, and Dad and Suzy...danced down the aisle. It was cool 'cause most the people weren't expecting it. They were surprised, amused, and it brought on applause so hey. Then we followed, stood in a greeting line that took forever... grace was said, the cake cut, and we all dug into the food. Wandered around a fair amount, thankfully no one stood on the back of my dress (a hazard, since it drags on the ground and it happened often enough at the resident's ball last year).

More pictures were taken, including one of me alone showing off my striped stockings. Someone was saying, it was funny when they took the picture of all of us at the alter or whatsit, 'cause we happen to be in very Christmasy colours (it's the middle of winter; it works!) and they even had elf socks thanks to me. Hehe.

I had a headache by the end of it all. Not enough to drink, too much sugar in my system, and I hadn't been wearing my glasses all day. Definitely tired and the headache just made it worse. And then... it was over.

Loaded wedding presents into Rachel's car, she dropped us and the presents off at Dad's while she and Laura and Savannah went home... for all of five minutes Iain and I made an attempt at catalogging what they got and from whom, but it got boring... I did go through all the cards and such, 'cause one thing Suzy and Dad asked for was Farmers vouchers so's they can buy a new fridge. I mean, seriously, they've already got two functional households and don't need a lot of the traditional wedding gifts. Anyway, I added it up... $1040 in Farmers vouchers, $90 in Briscoes, $10 Green Gardens, as well as $105 in cash. PLUS a shit load of other gifts. When I texted that to dad they were speechless... utterly overwhelmed at people's generousity.

And at the end of all this, I ended up going to visit my mate Gino, and we all got indian for tea (chicken tikka masala, mmmm) and went back to watch Extras and some other funny shit. I, apparently, do not exist because I found these GI Joe fake clips funny where most girls think they're just stupid. No, definitely funny. This other girl Evelyn thought so too, but we musn't be true girls or something. Possibly a compliment, or just too good to be true for these poor, sad lads. And Gino confirmed I'm a total geek for having a stick of RAM on a keyring. (I thank [livejournal.com profile] shiseiji for getting me that...)

And by midnight I was asleep.

The other day I found a dollar and then then twenty cents just laying on the ground. Because, of course, I so totally want to be picking more change. What with the fact they're going to up and change it all now. Bye-bye 5c pieces...gods, I remember when we used to have 1 & 2 cent coins too... I don't remember 1 & 2 dollar bills, or when they changed them to coins. But now their dropping the 5c, and downsizing and making lighter 10, 20, and 50 cent coins...making 10 cent coins copper-coloured now too.

So I've gone and spent all my spare change. I only had $2.80 of it, so I bought a cream bun and a chocolate caramel slice. Yummmm. Good stuff.

My cold is getting better. The cough isn't as bad, and while my nose is still sometimes runny and stuff, it's...sorta like before I was sick instead of all cloggy and shit. No headaches, either. I think I hate the headaches almost as much as coughing... 'cause the headaches don't go away with a drink like if it was just dehydration. And I hate the coughing 'cause of when I got bronchitus when I was ten. Worst shit ever. A blocked nose is (somewhat) more bearable, methinks.

Anyhoodie...

Got Iain his b-day present. It's one of those pin-art thingies... like [livejournal.com profile] pandoras_evil_t got for [livejournal.com profile] the_chief_80 for some occasion or other that I have now forgotten. And it's colourful--instead of the metal pins, they're these blue ones. Probably looks tres awesome under blacklight. I'm sure he'll like it.

Speaking of Iain, he burned me a copy of the Yellow Submarine songtrack when I saw him on Sunday. So when I'm not rockin' out to my Foo Fighter's CDs that I bought with the voucher he gave me, then I'm listening to the Beatles. Good stuff. :D

Was drinking last night. *snerk* Got through about half a bottle of Jim Beam black with Glenn before I gave up for the night. As much as I love bourbon and coke, it's not quite in me to drink a whole bottle in one night. Or even half of one, really. Still, it's cool hanging out and drinking with Glenn and his buddies. I may be the youngest of the lot, but they're not super-creepy or hitting on me or anything.

Ohh, and last night NCIS started back up. Zomg. *fangirly squee* I've been looking forward to this for so long now... Tony, as usual, I love. Abby is awesome and I always think of [livejournal.com profile] diea because I knew before I ever found out she watched the show that Abby'd be her fave (and remind her of me somewhat). I'm totally with her on the love for Ziva, too, like, with the way she was teasing Tony. 'Twas hilarious.

MMmm...think that's about all I've got for now. Started a new term and it's going okay. :)

Am bloody fucking cold. Nearly fell over twice this morning on the way to the loo. Damn alcohol fucking with my sense of balance. I didn't even get that drunk, but apparently it was enough to throw me off just a lil' bit.

Wish I could remember more Spanish. Be halfway fluent like I used to be. Eh, bien.

Coldcoldcoldcoldcoldcoldcoldcoldcoldcold*shiver*coldcoldcold.

*yawn*

Hate Sundays.
