Well, I'm back in Palmy now, and was able to catch a couple hours in Bella's bed (after a hefty make-out session with my darlin). I did sleep on the bus down, but of course I kept being woken up... plus the driver was speeding a lot, I think to make up for the delays loading and unloading, and that made the ride bumpier. At least I had two seats all to myself, though.

Was so good to see him this morning. Would have been nice if he could have been picking me up to take me straight home, but, oh well. We can wait a little longer. He can call me anytime he likes now. :D

Going to be interesting working until closing again. People are going to be super pissed they can't get their last minute booze from the supermarket. I wonder how many drunks we'll get? I fair few I should imagine. That's gonna suck.

Working 'til closing again tomorrow night. Weird to think of the place closing, 'cause, really, we could be a 24/7 operation, but they'd probably struggle for people willing to work those public holiday times unless they offered more than time and a half and day in lieu. I still don't understand closing New Year's night, though. Mind you, I don't understand the day after New Year's being a public holiday. Ah well, who'm I to question when it's going to fatten my paycheck?

James Blunt stuck in my head.

Okay, so, um, Saturday was my best mate [livejournal.com profile] pandoras_evil_t's birthday. Her 21st, in fact. Big shindig like thing planned. Ish.

Well, dinner at Valentines where we all dressed v. v. nice and somehow managed not to get pished or spend a hell of a lot on the bar tab. And then Damo, Ange, Anita and I were off out on the town (after Ange and I did some creative changing in the car to clothes more fit for bar crawling).

But, let me start at the beginning.

Early afternoon found me frustrated and swearing, as my attempts at ironing the wrinkles out of my dress appeared to be... nonexistant. Given that it's a dryclean only dress and I had to use the low setting on the iron, I mean, I don't know. I don't know a fucking thing about ironing, but the wrinkles were not fucking off. And then Ange texted me asking if I wanted to come over early, watch some SG-1, and still hang out while she and Damo were off at Zuki's where she was getting all sorts of pampered.

I still hadn't straightened my hair. But okay. Shoved things into a bag, and headed on over. A couple streets away from her place, I looked down and, to my shock, disovered a Samsung mp3 player that, while clearly having been run over at least once (the headphones were crushed) was still intact and working. And whoever it was that lost it has a fairly decent taste in music. Now I just gotta find myself the software, somewhere, somehow...

Watched SG-1. Ange came home in time to just about cry over Daniel dying after pulling a Spock. And then we had a minor Danielgasm at the special features tribute to him. Hee.

Dinner was fine. She got lots of cool gifts, and I was almost (but not quite) tempted to try the baby octopus they had on offer... but they were just a little too disturbing. And Ange wasn't nearly drunk enough for us to trick/dare her into trying one. No matter.

First bar we were at, decided to play some pool, doubles--Me and Anita vs. Ange and Damo, which was mostly us against Damo. Ange had only played pool once before, and, well, she's never really been known for her gaming prowess. But it's not like Anita and I kicked ass. We did win the first game, and then rather spectacularly lost the second game. And owe our final victory to Ange, although the chances of us winning that one seemed a mite better than theirs, any how.

Highlights of the game include:
Ange sinking the white ball plent of times, but the only times she sunk any other ball was the black ball to bring them, and then us, to victory.
Damo being the only one to knock the white ball off the table.
Damo aiming for either two of balls and bouncing the white over both of them straight into the middle pocket.
Not to mention a couple of shots I made that, well, it was a fluke I actually sunk a ball. But still, we had a lot of fun.

Also, while we were playing, we were... approached by a group of guys on a Stag night. They each had a list of things they had to do, and, well, we helped them out a little. Um. I helped them out most. See, the groom needed to acquire a pair of women's panties.

So I sold mine to him for $20.

And then I ended up giving up my pantyhose to one of the other guys, while Ange gave another her stockings.

This may be whiy I oughtn't go out on the town anymore. I do crazy stuff that involves a fair amount of shamelessness, and, usually, a lacking of sobriety. I go and do it stone fucking sober. Go me!

We wandered around a couple other places, but the music was rather shite and I didn't have a real hankering for getting pished. Also, I forgot to think about the fact that straightening my hair and not wearing my glasses makes me not resemble my passport photo so much. Once place I had to give my name and birthdate and have both bouncers look at me vs. my picture. Anyway, we went home about one something in the morning.

Slept late; missed Anita leaving but found $20 she dropped by the door. Um, decided to watch Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure 'til Ange and Damo got up. Not long afer they got up and the movie finished, we went to the Base to look into acquire Season 6 of SG-1. Well, first we had lunch at BK, where I had possibly the best burger I have had in ages. The Ultimate Double Whopper? It's... a proper size burger. With, like, all sorts of tasty ingredients. I was very satisfied.

Anyway, Wharehouse at the Base didn't have Season 6, but the Hilcrest store did, so we went over there and got it, plus a couple of movies, and some meat for dinner, then we went to Ange's mum's. She'd taken most of Ange's presents and the leftover cake home just so we didn't have to worry about them in the car while we were out on the town. Grabbed all that stuff and then went back to their place.

Yay, watched the first couple discs... had kinda forgotten how cute in a lost puppy kind of way Corin Nemec/Jonas Quinn can be. Also was amused at the return of McKay, after the poor guy got shipped off to Siberia (although he was being a right royal prick, that time). Still, I love me some SG-1.

And now I'm caught up on my f-list. Yay.

Augh! As if I don't have enough issues with hayfever, our darling cat Pearl had to have a sudden attack of cuddly cuteness of doom...and now I'm fucking covered in cat fur that insists on rising up to tickle my nose as if it weren't already being fucked with. Gah. I mean, I love that cat, she's an absolute darling, and it was probably just a thank-you for the fish I shared with her at dinner, but still. Not impressed.

Dinner, being Thursday night, was supposed to be cooked by me. But, well, Dad and I got held up at work--Jack and Caleb had gone up to Auckland to get more tree stands, and they got held up with a flat tire on their way back. So we were around 'til about 7 since Alice wouldn't really be able to handle any customers come to pick trees today. But she nicely shouted us the $$ to buy fish'n'chips for dinner, since otherwise it would have been very late before dinner got cooked. I did, in fact, cook a quiche, which I haven't done since I was, like, twelve... and we'll eat it for dinner tomorrow.

Last Tuesday I spent the night at Ange's. It was fun. We had dinner, and pigged out on junk food, and watched Stargate. 'Cause I'm le geek. And then yesterday she kindly shouted me and Jas'n frappacino whatsits at McCafe and we sat and talked. And we helped her spend more money on food. I went home for a while,a nd then came back in the evening to share dessert and watch some Star Trek Borg episodes and Shaun of the Dead. And then she kicked me and Jas'n out so she could go and have (loud) sex with Damian. *snerk*

I took the Seduction Quiz, but before I could post my results the computer died on me. Again. Fucker. Gah. So now I'm retaking it to get the proper result again. I was very amused with it.

I need to get laid.

Yesterday, I woke up at eight, and thought, "It's Saturday. What do I need to get up for? Nothing." And went back to sleep. An hour later, mum came in and placed her very cold hands on my back to serve as a wake-up call. "Get up," she says, "We have to go into town because I need a hair cut, you need to close your bank account, and you need to be at Rhi's by noon."
By noon? Hmmm.
I knew something was up. I mean, I knew I was going to spend the night at Rhis. I'd told Ali she needed to come by while I was there. But I also remembered that Kamille had said something in a comment about having fun at a party this weekend. A comment that while I was emailed it, didn't appear on my journal.
Hmmm.
Alright, so, trip into town. Get a $500 check to myself as well as $174.14 in cash, thus closing my account that had held $674.14. That will get me just over $1000 NZ. This is a good start. Btw, Kah, got the postcard. Very awesome!
So, we get to Rhianna's, and there were other cars besides hers. I recognize one as Kaisa's, and the other I was pretty sure was Jess's. I was right.
Surprise party for me! Yay!
So there was food and fun and Cathy showed up, as did Ali. We watched Ron White, Bill Engvall, Dane Cook, the Blue Collar Comedy Tour (well, parts of it before we went outside to shoot at pumpkins and cans with beebee guns). Lots and lots of food and drink.
Oh, yes, there was a banner for me that they all wrote on. There were pictures taken by Ali of some of us in rather compromising positions. We also got to see Jess's pics from the party she'd held before Pat, Kah, Ali, and Jess all went off to college. And there was a cake for me, which said, "Hana Rocks!" It was sprinkle cake too.
I introduced them to the term 'feminazis.'
Cathy and Kaisa went off home, Ali couldn't stay the night but she could stay long enough for one movie. So, we watched the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen as I do enjoy that movie, Jess had never seen it, and we all wanted to ravish Shane West. Bruce Almighty was what we watched before finally going to sleep.
I had to be home by noon so I got maybe half an hour of playing the Sims 2 before I got Rhi to take me home. At that I forgot to grab my banner and my case of CDs I brought. But I DID bring home my new edition!
(no, not a baby)
Perhaps you remember when I had a polar bear that needed naming? Spike. Does that ring a bell? Here, a picture:

Well, I got another polar bear. Meet Crash.

I now have bi-polar.

And so, I come home and am there less than half an hour before we are off to see my step-grandma, aunt, and cousins. Everyone's got to say their farewells. So we had a nice lunch there, and another cake that said, "Best Wishes for College, Hana" that was also very nice. And all in all very pleasant. Yet, now, I'm glad to be home and online and all that because I'm such an addict.

It's Sunday. Which is a hard concept to follow.
See, I got up at about ten or something, and spent the entire day yesterday lying on Rhianna's bed in my pajamas (she was in hers too) and we simply lay there and played the Sims. Okay, sure, got up (but not dressed) to go stop by Ali's for my book before she left, and ran out at one point to feed the animals, or made runs to the kitchen to feed ourselves... and did dishes... but mostly it was playing the Sims. Because we have Ronin Warrior skins.
The night before we'd watched Pirates of the Caribbean, but hadn't stayed up too late as Rhi didn't think she could make it through Interview with The Vampire. So, after we finished building our RW mansion we sat down to watch Interview. Then we watched Shanghai Knights, Ella Enchanted (OMG WESTLEY!), the Italian Job, and Shrek. Yes, we pulled an all-nighter.
It's now nearly nine, I'm still up, awake, and all that. Playing about on the comp and trying to persuade it that the wireless connection in this room is just FINE thankyouverymuch. In desperate need of a shower. Rhi is sleeping on the couch. Having a 'nap.' I have no intentions of going to bed until the sun hath set. We'll see how long that lasts. Until I get bored I suppose. No one is online. I don't have a bunch of emails, comments, and journal entries to wade through (if only because I'm ignoring the ones that aren't really that great/important/entertaining). Which isn't many.
Not hungry... not really thirsty.... I could take a shower... I don't know. I'll think of something. Maybe. :D
*giggles* Heard some tires squeal out on the road last night or the night before. I rushed out of the bathroom (I'd been washing my hands at that point) and asked Rhi if she heard it. "You were in the bathroom. And you came out." *snickers* We started quoting Dane all over again. First about hearing the squealing tires and hoping there'll be a smash shortly after... "I was in the kitchen, and I was washing a dish when I heard it. So I came out. Shoes? No, no, fuck shoes. *laugh obnoxiously* Listen to this guy... shoes..."
"OH YEAH!"
"Oh no. Naughty, naught Kool-Aid."
"Oh yeah?"
"No. No."
"Oh, yeah?"
"No."
If you know, you know. If you don't, I'm sorry.

Mum is going to Las Vegas next week for some nurses thing. She'll be gone Thursday, Friday, and come home late Saturday. I'll have to get the times off her sometime. But yeah. She asked if Rhi would give her a ride to the bus pick up thing on the Thursday morning, and that maybe I'd like to stay with Rhi while she's gone.
Certainly I wouldn't mind staying out of Gary's hair. He's rather cranky these days, partly because of his gum infection that he's not getting treated. It also means I won't have to stress about feeding him or him having to stress about feeding me. And Rhi says her parents are leaving for Oregon on that Friday, so maybe I'd like to stay and keep her company until Sunday. *smiles* That could be good. Mum's all right with it.

Naturally, with the movies my brother made me, he gave me a couple CDs. One is the "Take a Break" album by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. *giggles* There's nothing like hearing a guy singing a punk version of Celine Dion's "Natural Woman." Among other things. Very funny.
Watched the first two Harry Potter movies at Brit's last night. We were going to watch some of the movies that arrived from my brother, BUT her computers wouldn't read them. So we watched Harry Potter and giggled a lot. The surround sound made things amusing, too. That kept us up 'til just after two. Then we ended up lying in our beds talking for another three hours before we dropped off to sleep.
She brought me home and I was tempted to go back to bed but I was too awake. Basically I'm just going to stay up until I'm too tired. Then sleep as long as I can. Hopefully it will work. :D

So, haven't really been around since Wednesday. Thursday I wasn't online because Rhi and Ali were crashing at my place. I introduced them to the Red Green show, which they had never seen before. And then we woke up to it raining in the morning. Mum was staying home sick, too.
Meh, we packed, and were off by noon or one. The rain had pretty much abated by the time we reached our campsite, which we were very lucky to get. Set up the tents, and then we went off to get some food and stuff. I feel asleep after all the food and warmth in the car. Wouldn't have woken up were it not for the car stopping.
So we explored a little, played some games, and made hamburgers. Ali nearly got her eyebrows singed off when the gast burner wouldn't start and then suddenly had a burst of flame. But hey, we ate... stayed up late... had chich chatter...
Saturday was off to the faire. Wheee! It wasn't nearly as cloudy and even got pretty warm. I did go in search of a bodice, but could find none reasonably (for me) priced. Instead I settled for this gorgeous skirt. Rhi got a belt for her new rapier. I got a cool tin with a set of dragon cards in it, and a pretty card for mum from the same place she got her rapier.
Walking around the faire we saw some cool sights. Xena, for instance. Plus about three pet dragons and three dragons by their lonesome. Got snarled at by some wild cat creature thing, and saw a chick in a skin tight tiger suit. Ran into Charles, bless him, and promised to check out one of his group's shows.
I ended up buying more things, like a titanium navel ring for mum, (encouraged Rhi to buy a glass bottle in a leather holder to carry lemonade in) a little belt knife with an even smaller twin, a green glass mug with some celtic design for mum, and some fish'n'chips.
We got pretty tired and sat down by the stage Charles and his friends would be perfoming at. Watched one show before theirs came on. They were a bunch of gypsies ("There goes the neighborhood!") so we got some song and dance and fortune telling... It was pretty cool, but we were done after that.
Came back, Rhi and I took a walk while Ali read... got tired out and had a nap. Went and bought some firewood that they took a while to deliver--which meant we got extra for free. But then we had a hell of a time getting a fire started due to lack of paper and kindling, so we had to get some of that delivered, too. But then it was a lot of fun.
Toasted hotdogs, and I was the only one not to burn her fingers transferring cooked dog onto bun. :D And then we had marshmallows. Didn't really care to make s'mores. I just liked setting my marshmallow on fire so it was melted inside and crispy outside. Joygasmically good. Of course some of us had to lose a marshmallow or ten to the fire because they look cool when they expand and bubble and expand some more before turning to ash.
Were getting some water to douse the fire when the park ranger lady told it was "quiet hour" which certainly helped put a damper on the whole thing. Meh. We were tired enough it wasn't so bad. Lots of sleep later, and then it was all packing up time.
Came home and my parents weren't there. Didn't know where they were, when they were going to be back, nothing. Turns out they went to the beach and they came home close to six. I got handed to paper which was mum's subtle way of saying look in the classifieds right this instant young lady. There's nothing this week. Le sigh.
Damn I really want some chocolate.

Blah )

So. It's been a while since I wrote. Tuesday of last week was working with Rhianna and Alicia, splitting and stacking firewood. That earned me $75, which surprised me. I didn't expect to be paid $10 an hour. Anyway, I'm still recovering from that event.
On Wednesday I didn't do much until I had my eye appointment. It was very short, compared to what I'm used to. But they say my eyesight has improved somewhat, which is what they expect at about my age. Meh, eventually I'll look into laser eye surgery to get rid of wearing glasses completely. After that I introduced mum to TCBY's and so we feasted on some ice cream.
Dawn arrived later that evening, and then came all the being a good host stuff. It was cool to hang out with her, but she certainly has become more odd as the years have passed. Apparently I had a hand in corrupting her, but then it went in turns I never would have expected. *shrugs* Also learned that she's been diagnosed with having type two bipolar disorder. Last week just happened to be when she started her new mood modifying drugs; be damned if I remember the name. It wasn't Lithium.
On Thursday she and I watched a few movies. She'd never seen the Scorpion King, so we watched that. I got a strong desire to watch a movie with Gary Oldman in it, so we watched Air Force One, which she also hadn't seen. (I <3 Gary Oldman) And then, because everyone should watch this movie at least once, we watched Ocean's Eleven. Made fun of her, because she's really good at making messes, and she sure covered about a third of the floor space in my room with her stuff.
I taught her how to play Double Solitaire, as well as Idiot Solitaire. It was no surprise I won the first few times, but it wasn't long before the amount of cards I won by was only one or two. The more we played, the more she was able to win so we evened out I guess. I just had to teach her Idiot Solitaire for whenever she was bored out of her mind.
Friday we dressed up all goth, with the dark lipstick and dark eye shadow. She was wishing she'd brought her white face paint, but I've never, never been into the liquid paper white face thing with the dark eyes and lips. But then, I'm already pale enough. She let me wear her shiny Trinity style trench coat while she wore her other one, and we took a few photos. I really wished I was the owner of the coat I wore... it fit me very well.
I went online and finally dloaded the Xvid codec so we could watch Equilibrium. (I only had DivX and not all my movies work with it) I had to tell her to sit down and pay attention a few times as the slowness of the movie fought with her ADHD. It was the promise of great action at the end, and that she needed to pay attention to understand the story that kept her watching. Needless to say, she was very satisfied with the ending. And then I went for something a little lighter... Ice Age, for example. I swear that movie gets better every time I watch it.
On Saturday she packed up her things, and we went to the mall before taking her home. Of course her first stop was Suncoast to check out all the anime stuff. Next we hit up Hot Topic in its temporary location. I had a look around but was very reluctant to spend money, although I did help Dawn spend hers. She'd got a pair of gauged earrings for herself, and some Mario magnets for her bf. But she was 70 cents short of getting another stamp on her frequent buyer's card. Well, I happened to be rummaging through the button container to see what funny little messages I could. And one of them, I happened to really like. So I threw that in so she could get the extra stamp.
At Dawn's home I was very surprised when Jean showed up. I haven't seen Jean in forever so we spent the time I was there catching up before mum was finally ready to leave. Because traffic had been really bad on the bridge towards home, we delayed going there by stopping at mum's friend Sylvia's for dinner. I talked a lot with Sylvia and her daughter Sarah about Harry Potter, the books and movie.
When we came home I learned Rhianna had stopped by, so I called to find out why--she'd been by to give me the money I earned. Well, instead we made arrangements for me to come over yesterday to hang out and all that. So in between doing laundry, we watched a Japanese movie (with subtitles of course) called Shall we Dance? And then we watched the first four episodes of Ronin Warriors. At Rhi's invitation, I called home to ask if I could stay the night. Then we went into town to drop of Shall We Dance at the movie rentals, to get some donuts, and to pick up my birthday present. We were going to go to the mall for that, except that we got there at 6 and that's when the mall closes. Instead we went to B&N and I got to pick out any book I wanted, so I grabbed Temple of the Winds.
Rhi has this idea that I need to find a quiet place where other people are, read the passage where Drefan gets his spine ripped out by his brother, laugh out loud like I didn't in the school library, then turn and read said passage aloud to a person next to me. *giggles*
She and I were going to play on the computers in her room, except that the computer I would have used was acting up. So I got to play on the laptop for a while as she tried to fix it, or at least figure out what was wrong. I think. Anyway, got a little bit of online time on before we went downstairs to watch movies. Because I haven't seen it since I saw it in theatres close to 10 years ago, we had to watch Beauty and the Beast. And because I hadn't seen it in an even longer time, we also watched Thumbalina. By the time it was over it was sometime after two and we finally decided it was time to sleep.
And now I'm home. Been reading Pillars of Creation. It's really riveting. Whee. Oh yeah, and my button I got says, "You nonconformists are all alike." Love it.

Yes, clicky clicky here's my survey answers )

Spent the afternoon at Rhi's yesterday. We made cookie dough, but never got around to baking the cookies. We watched Pirates of the Caribbean and the Rundown instead. I have to admit, I'd had my reservations about the Rundown, and so was pleasantly surprised. I kept thinking about a quote from The Tale of the Body Thief, though, where David mentions all Brazilians are attractive, as if the combination of African, Portuguese, and Indian just equals beauty.
Rhi and Ash are coming over later. They're going to spend the night. Apparently Ash rented some movies, one of which is a "must watch." My step-dad isn't going to be pleased when we take over the T.V. Meh, it's not like he doesn't have the early evening, or he didn't have all day.
He's starting his new job tomorrow. I'm happy. He finally got another job. I hope it lasts a good while. It'll be depressing if it doesn't. I'd about kill someone if they layed him off. He's been out of work waaaay too long. It'll be kind of fun to come home to an empty house all over again.
According to some old man, I walk up to three miles a day. Sometimes more. In fact, today I did twice that. What can I say? I like walking when listening to music. It's a mile and a half to walk up the lane and back. I do it more than once. It passes time. I like to think it means that I could end up walking a longer distance without passing out.
I want to go shopping. But I don't like shopping without something in mind, and a littl more $$$$ in the wallet. Not like I don't have $$$$. I could see four movies at the AMC at least. Not that I want to see four movies. Or even one movie four times. I DO want to see Hidalgo. But... don't know who else hasn't seen it yet or would like to see it a second time.
Am I the only one with MSN problems?

So there's this necklace Ash gave me for Christmas a couple years ago; she got it from Hot Topic. I love it. It's goth, and a choker. But it was broken. I finally fixed it today. And wore it. Made me feel good. I also called her and so she will be coming over to sleep on Wednesday night.
I brought in my two boxes of fragiles and legos from the shed, finally. Sorted them out, and packed up about half of it, while I threw some of it away. I then arranged the rest of the stuff in my room. Now, my bookshelves have ornaments on each shelf... one of all my fairies, one of all my dragon/wizard related stuff, one with all my shells and such, and the bottom one with my grad stuff. Yeah, I know, like you want to visualize my freakin' bookshelves.
I wonder how many books I have? Still need to see Rhi and lend her "Dhampir."
I have a headache.

Homecoming pictures arrived today. I was scared that mine didn't turn out well. It did. The group picture looks awesome, too. I found it amusing how I was the odd one out... my arms were covered, my smile more of a smirk, and the fan... But we all look gorgeous. I had to make a list of who was getting what wallets so that I didn't agree to too many.
So I got a lot of comments after posting in Paris... it was amusing to say the least. Certainly glad to know I'm remembered. I'm thinking I just may have to make an update about things that have been going on in my life.
Other than that, life has been taken up in school, or playing computer games. Lame little moi. *patiently kills mouse*
I hope a new computer comes after the new house. But then, there's plans for a new TV and actual DVD player as well... who knows? I do know that the old TV will be in my room, for when I have girls over for movie nights.
And that's something I'll finally be able to do without crowding out my step-dad. That's what has stopped me from having them over before.
I have a conference with my mum and sixth period teacher at 6:30 in the morning next Friday. I am sooooo going to be buying a latter from the expresso stand. I'll actually have the time to drink it, then! *thinks about coffee* Mmmm.
