So, as I understand it, you fill out the wee meme questions, and based on the answers, describe your personal hell. Sounds like fun.

I got this in an email recently:

Do the math on the Paul McCartney - Heather Mills divorce.

After only five (5) years of marriage, he paid her $49 million to dissolve the marriage.

Assuming he banged her every night during their five (5) year relationship (and being married men, we all know THAT doesn't happen), it ends up costing him a mere $26,835 per lay, not counting attorney's fees and court costs.

On the other hand, Elliot Spitzer's call girl, Kristen charges $4,000 an hour - crazy, right?

But... had Paul McCartney employed Kristen for five (5) years, he would've paid $7.3 million for an hour of sex every night for five years (a savings of $41+ million).

Value-added benefits are:

· A 22 year old hot babe;
· No begging;
· No coaxing;
· Never a headache;
· Wide open menu;
· Ability to put BOTH legs around you;
· No bitching or complaining;
· No 'to do' lists.

Best of all, she leaves when you're done and she returns the next day, ready for another round.

All, at a small fraction (1/7th) of the cost with none of those annoying and pricey legal fees.

After doing all the math. Would you own or rent?

I forwarded it on to my darling man, who, naturally, had a thing or two to say...

Haha This raises some good points. However i have a
* 22 yr old hot babe
* A little begging now and then
* A little coaxing now and then
* Headache?? I have Panadol!!!
* mmmmm wide open menu
* Both legs around me
* No bitching and only a little complaining
* no to do lists

So I think i will stick to owning

Love and adore you my darling

Hee. One of the guys who works in the trade department in Mega found out the age difference between us, and the fact we have lived together since shortly after we got together. His new goal is to grow up to be just like my darling.

V - is for voracious. 'Cause when I'm hungry, I eat enough for for two. Villages.
I - is for imagination. Mine is very vivid and active and porny.
R - is for ribald. Porn. Swearing. All that fucking jazz.
G - is for gorgeous. Hey, if I keep being told that, it must be true, right? Right!
I - is also for irony. Also goes along with sarcastic and snarky.
N - is for nifty. 'Cause I am. :P
I - is also for I. As in, me, myself, and I. I am the centre of your universe.
A - is for arrogant. I know I am. I don't mind.

Guess the meme. Play it if you want.

Heh. Just realised R could also be for red, as in... the colour of my hair now. Hypnotic Red it's called. It's very red and pretty. :D

Amazing that I've received 3,500 comments exactly. That's pretty cool. It's my 891st post... and I've had my lj since November 2003. There's all sorts of other quirky little stats and stuff I could come up with concerning my lj, but, well, who cares? It would only really be fascinating to me.

Because I love bringing it up, someone linked me to the youtube video involving the elephant on the trampoline that led to that oh-so-hypnotic icon. It's pretty damn cool, although I kept expecting something horrible to happen to the elephant. Not because I wanted to, but because it would totally make me flinch.

I haven't been feeling that talkative lately, or in the mood to respond to emails... which is a bad thing. Because I really should at least acknowledge that yes, I got this or that text or email, and I'm fine/alive/what-have-you... but then whoever contacted me with be in the mood to chat and ask questions, and I don't fucking feel like sharing. It's not like there's anything going on. I'm simply in a non-social mood. Thing. I don't know how to explain it. Reclusive? Temporarily?

I just want to sit back and watch, for a while.

xans: Xans (Seabeck Hicks)
So I've sort of been keeping a mental list of actor's voices I would adore to hear narrating anything--even the driest text book, if only to hear their voices. It includes:

Pierce Brosnan
Liam Neeson
Tim Curry
Jeremy Irons
Alan Rickman
Vin Diesel
James Earl Jones
Morgan Freeman
Lawrence Fishbourne

And I'm nto sure who else I could adore... ideas, f-list? (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] peaseblossom03 for discussing with me, as well. :D)

I felt really bad for my flatmate this morning. See, he's a bit of a night owl, as well has having some family drama in the middle of the night, was cursed with insomnia. I myself suffered the same, although not as bad as him... but enough to sympathise. Anyway, I contented myself with reading some fanfic before I went back to bed and managed to fall asleep. Unfortunately, I was woken around four in the morning (again) by the sound of his angry voice on the phone (again), and once I managed to gather there was swearing and an ex involved, I tuned him out and amazingly fell back asleep. Made plans to offer my sympathetic ear in the morning if he needed to rant.

Anyway, this guys kids get up at the crack of dawn all the time. I honestly don't know what's wrong with them that they never, ever sleep in. On a good weekend, they're quiet and I don't have them waking me. On a bad weekend, there's thumping (is there something about children and running everywhere in the house? Savannah was as bad when we were on Amarah baby-sitting duty...) and bickering. This is a bad weekend. Michaela, especially, is loud, but Callum is eleven and can be an ass to his sister while she's a bossy little britches. So there was much fighting this morning. I got up in hopes of, y'know, getting them to shut up and having Michaela stop knocking on her dad's door for advice on their cookie baking to let the poor man sleep.

I asked him later if he got any sleep at all, and apparently there was a couple of hours and he's okay, but, yeah, he got a bit grumpy with them when the fighting got too loud. Bloody kids. Would happily stuff them under pillows, at the moment.

A few things, in no particular order:

1.) The menstrual cycle is a curse: you curse it if it comes, and your curse it if it doesn't. Currently cursing it for coming, although I'm also grateful that everything is in working order, and I haven't gone and got myself knocked up. That would lead to all sorts of unpleasant business we don't need.

2.) He says I have a sexy tummy. It makes me laugh. But then I love it when he runs his hands across my belly and along my lower back. Tickling--or trying to--is so not on, however.

3.) I possibly drink too much coffee.

4.) I ate a tuna sandwich yesterday, and it didn't kill me. I still don't really like tuna, though. I'd say it's on the same level of distaste as mushrooms, but not as much as beetroot or eggplant/aubergine. Or absolute loathing like for sheep's kindeys.

5.) Danny Messer/Carmine Giovinazzo is all sorts of pretty:
See what I mean? )

6.) I have a mini moro bar sitting next to me, and I am too full to eat it. Le shock, horror!

7.) I've been really comment happy lately, having something to say, or sometimes not having something to say, but commenting anyway, particularly because of...

8.) [livejournal.com profile] nest_of_spiders, a new comm pimped to me by [livejournal.com profile] such_heights. They post prompts daily for the month of April. "The community is open to all characters and pairings (slash, het, gen) from the First War/Marauders' Era of Harry Potter (approximately 1970-1981)." The reponse to prompts has been simply amazing, and I've felt inclined to leave comments as I've yet to be inspired to write fic myself.

9.) I'm much too prideful for the teensy little bit of help I gave [livejournal.com profile] ashinae on her Nathan/Peter fic, Nothing So Complicated. It's all sorts of wrongness, but I still love it. Hee.

10.) Have a Happy Easter everyone! (Whether you celebrate it or not. Hope your weekend is grand, anyhow.)

OH THE BEEMANITY *dies* Oh, this is such a thing of beauty. I cannot help but giggle every time I look through it again. Hee.

In other news, um, several months back I left a post for that Five Things meme, and, while I did most of the prompts, there's a couple I didn't. *wince*

From [livejournal.com profile] d_e_l_i_r_i_u_m (my god that's a pain to type out, darlin'), who was just messing with me, I got these two prompts...

HP/Sandman crossover )

Discworld )

And from [livejournal.com profile] pandoras_evil_t (who is rather ill, I'm so very sorry sweetie), I got this one...

House MD )

Once again, I'm asking for prompts, picking from common fandoms which you can find listed on my info page. I make no promises of actually writing them, but I can't say I won't try.

You post a couple of five things topics, lists, categories, whatever, in my comments section. (examples: "Five Phrases Batman Will Never Say", or "Five Things Dean Will Never, Ever Tell Sam", or "Five Times That Jeeves Was Caught Unprepared") Then, in a separate post, eventually, I'll post the answers to some of your Top 5 ideas, according to me. Serious or fun! Then you post this offer in your own journal, if the mood takes you.

The other meme, if you feel like it, is to post a fandom and five words, and I'll try to write a drabble about it.

Tagged by [livejournal.com profile] autumn_whispers

Each player of this game starts off with 10 weird things/habits/little known facts about yourself. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 10 weird habits/things/little known facts as well as state this rule clearly. At the end you need to choose 10 people to be tagged and list their names. No tagbacks.

1. I used to suck my thumb until I was about 8 and burned my thumb on a sparkler on Guy Fawkes. Having a bandaid there weaned me of the habit.

2. I also used to sleep with this bandana that was a picture of a pegasus but I lost it my first year of uni.

3. I crack my knuckles, and, if I'm not wearing shoes, I'll crack my toes as well.

4. When I was 14 I had a dream that ended up giving me the most intense feeling of deja vu when it happened exactly as I dreamed it, months later.

5. I term the years between 9 & 13 my "ugly" years, when I had super low self-esteem and no belief I was in any way ever going to be an attractive woman.

6. I can walk around without clothes unself-consciously, but, take out my navel ring, and I immediately feel naked even if I've clothes on. It makes no difference whether I've got earrings in or not.

7. I find it amusing that most people are embarrassed to catch me in my pajamas than I am embarrassed to be around people when I'm wearing pajamas.

8. The nail on my left little toe fell off when I was a kid; I have no idea why, but it never grew back right ever again.

9. I maintain that all women should paint their toenails yummy colours, while being slightly ashamed I have not painted my own toenails in over a year.

10. My favourite part of the human body, male or female, is the area between navel and groin, particularly that little dip by the hip that I forget what it's called.

I tag: [livejournal.com profile] pandoras_evil_t, [livejournal.com profile] macjinx, [livejournal.com profile] the_chief_80, [livejournal.com profile] _college_girl_, [livejournal.com profile] uptheduff, [livejournal.com profile] diea, [livejournal.com profile] ervinai, [livejournal.com profile] autumnjedigirl, [livejournal.com profile] simple__man, & [livejournal.com profile] shiseiji. But that doesn't mean I reckon all of you are going to do it.

Was going to straighten my hair today, but it's being a bitch, so, just loaded it with frizz reducing product instead. Feeling girly in summer white dress, yay.

xans: Xans (UFOs)
Okay, so, um, Saturday was my best mate [livejournal.com profile] pandoras_evil_t's birthday. Her 21st, in fact. Big shindig like thing planned. Ish.

Well, dinner at Valentines where we all dressed v. v. nice and somehow managed not to get pished or spend a hell of a lot on the bar tab. And then Damo, Ange, Anita and I were off out on the town (after Ange and I did some creative changing in the car to clothes more fit for bar crawling).

But, let me start at the beginning.

Early afternoon found me frustrated and swearing, as my attempts at ironing the wrinkles out of my dress appeared to be... nonexistant. Given that it's a dryclean only dress and I had to use the low setting on the iron, I mean, I don't know. I don't know a fucking thing about ironing, but the wrinkles were not fucking off. And then Ange texted me asking if I wanted to come over early, watch some SG-1, and still hang out while she and Damo were off at Zuki's where she was getting all sorts of pampered.

I still hadn't straightened my hair. But okay. Shoved things into a bag, and headed on over. A couple streets away from her place, I looked down and, to my shock, disovered a Samsung mp3 player that, while clearly having been run over at least once (the headphones were crushed) was still intact and working. And whoever it was that lost it has a fairly decent taste in music. Now I just gotta find myself the software, somewhere, somehow...

Watched SG-1. Ange came home in time to just about cry over Daniel dying after pulling a Spock. And then we had a minor Danielgasm at the special features tribute to him. Hee.

Dinner was fine. She got lots of cool gifts, and I was almost (but not quite) tempted to try the baby octopus they had on offer... but they were just a little too disturbing. And Ange wasn't nearly drunk enough for us to trick/dare her into trying one. No matter.

First bar we were at, decided to play some pool, doubles--Me and Anita vs. Ange and Damo, which was mostly us against Damo. Ange had only played pool once before, and, well, she's never really been known for her gaming prowess. But it's not like Anita and I kicked ass. We did win the first game, and then rather spectacularly lost the second game. And owe our final victory to Ange, although the chances of us winning that one seemed a mite better than theirs, any how.

Highlights of the game include:
Ange sinking the white ball plent of times, but the only times she sunk any other ball was the black ball to bring them, and then us, to victory.
Damo being the only one to knock the white ball off the table.
Damo aiming for either two of balls and bouncing the white over both of them straight into the middle pocket.
Not to mention a couple of shots I made that, well, it was a fluke I actually sunk a ball. But still, we had a lot of fun.

Also, while we were playing, we were... approached by a group of guys on a Stag night. They each had a list of things they had to do, and, well, we helped them out a little. Um. I helped them out most. See, the groom needed to acquire a pair of women's panties.

So I sold mine to him for $20.

And then I ended up giving up my pantyhose to one of the other guys, while Ange gave another her stockings.

This may be whiy I oughtn't go out on the town anymore. I do crazy stuff that involves a fair amount of shamelessness, and, usually, a lacking of sobriety. I go and do it stone fucking sober. Go me!

We wandered around a couple other places, but the music was rather shite and I didn't have a real hankering for getting pished. Also, I forgot to think about the fact that straightening my hair and not wearing my glasses makes me not resemble my passport photo so much. Once place I had to give my name and birthdate and have both bouncers look at me vs. my picture. Anyway, we went home about one something in the morning.

Slept late; missed Anita leaving but found $20 she dropped by the door. Um, decided to watch Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure 'til Ange and Damo got up. Not long afer they got up and the movie finished, we went to the Base to look into acquire Season 6 of SG-1. Well, first we had lunch at BK, where I had possibly the best burger I have had in ages. The Ultimate Double Whopper? It's... a proper size burger. With, like, all sorts of tasty ingredients. I was very satisfied.

Anyway, Wharehouse at the Base didn't have Season 6, but the Hilcrest store did, so we went over there and got it, plus a couple of movies, and some meat for dinner, then we went to Ange's mum's. She'd taken most of Ange's presents and the leftover cake home just so we didn't have to worry about them in the car while we were out on the town. Grabbed all that stuff and then went back to their place.

Yay, watched the first couple discs... had kinda forgotten how cute in a lost puppy kind of way Corin Nemec/Jonas Quinn can be. Also was amused at the return of McKay, after the poor guy got shipped off to Siberia (although he was being a right royal prick, that time). Still, I love me some SG-1.

And now I'm caught up on my f-list. Yay.

xans: Xans (Angry Boo)
Way back when I was a kid, Iain and Dad went off on some special Boy Scout trip away for the weekend. So, Mum and I went on a special girls only trip to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and there were llamas and hot air balloons and the whatsit cablecars that got up the mountain...I really liked them.

Llamas )

But I look back on my childhood and cringe...
-I had really big horrible glasses
-Hermione hair
-fussy eater
-demanding (although I didn't always get it, but man could I kick up a fuss) and whiny
-useless at making friends (and I got picked on a lot, although I've blocked most of it)

...to name a few not so pleasant parts about it all. Not to mention, I can't ever remember myself as a kid being nearl as charismatic as I am these days. Or pretty. I definitely got prettier once I got older. I wasn't even a cute kid. Not really.

01. Keanu Reeves -love him or hate him, he's still pretty nice eye candy.
02. Kit Kat -mmmm, chocolate...
03. Kindly Ones, The -it's Neil Gaiman. It's Sandman. It's good.
04. Kinks, The -Lola. Awesome, awesome song. Great music.
05. Kites -when I was little we used to have this cool red octopus kite.
06. Kate Winslet -one of my favourite actresses, yo. And pretty.
07. Kittens -our cat Pearl had her kittens on my bed at four something in the morning, almost 11 years ago. She and one of said kittens, Yoda, live with my dad and step-mum now.
08. 'Köhanga Reo' -my brother and I were the only pakeha children in our kohanga reo classes...unfortunately I've forgotten most of my maori and anything I might have been taught there.
09. Kian -a name I came up with once, and then found in books by three different authors, and every single time the character with this name got killed. I've so totally got a write a story where he doesn't.
10. Klingons -'cause, y'know, Trekkie and whatnot.

I was gonna write a bit about last night with Grant. And what I've come up with so far in the way of the meme I posted yesterday (that only one person has commented on. Where's the love?). But, thing is... I've got cramps and all that lovely femme stuff and simply cannot be bothered.

1. Remind me to have a rant at some point about ill-fitting clothes. Also, a rant about positions of computer keyboards, monitors, mouses, and the proper height for desks/chairs.

2. Yes, it's my birthday. I am 21 now.

3. Mother Nature could have provided nicer weather, methinks. Even when I've been in the States in the middle of summer, there's been many a birthday I got rained on.

4. Thankfully this year, unlike several previous years, my body has NOT conspired against me to see to it that I am on the rag at this auspicious occasion. Am...grateful, I suppose.

5. Presents good. Having to wait 'til August for several of them? Not so good. Will survive.

Okay, since I have left for Wellington...

-I lost my emo glasses. Boo.
-[livejournal.com profile] iowabound had a baby. Congrats!
-My dad's good friend Ratu was killed in a car accident. Le sigh.
-[livejournal.com profile] ishimish had a birthday. Happy crotchdropping day!
-suffered my first hangovers. Damn
-scored with a british boy. Yay!

His name is Carl, but everyone calls him Aston Villa. He's from Birmingham. Brown eyes, brown hair (the tips are blonde), about 6 feet I guess, and 22 years old. He's not the hottest thing to walk the earth, but he sure isn't breaking any mirrors either. Well... maybe with his voice. He's one of those natrually loud people.
I know I told [livejournal.com profile] shiseiji last Friday that I quite fancied this boy Darren... but then Carl returned on that Sunday and, well... Darren never appeared to fancy me very much anywho. It's rather cool, I started talking to Darren a couple of days into my coming to this place, and suddenly found myself integrated into this large group of folks who've all been together a month or more. Even Canada took a liking to me, and he rather despises kiwi girls. I'm playing up my half-bredness. I'm also sounding less American, particularly when drunk, as I pick up on the Brit's accent. Or, hell, one time I was talking to John, who's Irish, and saying things with the Irish accent almost. Actually, let me go over the group...
There's Eric (Canada), John (Horse), Craig (Craig David), Neriss, Carl (Aston), Darren (Jesus), Paul, Connor, Brian, Vince (Milan, or Vincent Vegas), Mike (Party Mike), and, um, there was also these guys Johnny and Valentine, but they've left. Anyway, Neriss and Connor are the only girls, so they appreciate having another girl around to talk girl talk. I'm the youngest, though. Neriss, John, or Canada is the oldest. Not sure which.
Craig and Canada are in competition over pulling girls... I think Craig is in the lead after getting two girls in one night. There was supposed to be lots of points if any of them scored with the twin sister of Milan's gf. It was their 20th last night, and we all went. I ended up dragging my boy off some time before two, since despite my being smashed, I seemed to realise that if I didn't do something he'd get kicked out anyway. Still, got teased for it this morning, didn't I?
Anyway, am alive, doing all right, school is school, as per usual, and flat hunting blows chunks... but is necessary. Lemme know what you're up to, 'cause I'm bound to miss stuff even if I hit up the f-list.

Hair cut? Dye? Visit to Zuki's? Or ask Carla via Suzy? Think about it.

Journal entry part the sixth:

Saw my Uncle George, cousin Martin, his wife Jenny and their daughter Eleni today. Will also see Aunty Jane when they come back on their way back to Auckland around the 16th if I hang around. (note to self--sort out boxes before this?) They showed up as we were eating our dinner, but they didn't mind. Pictures were taken. Later we went along with them into town where they wanted to eat and spent more time together. Were going to Metropolis, but ended up at the Sahara Tent. V. nice. Had a Steinlager, shared in the entree, and then a double chocolate cheesecake, and half a glass of wine. Also tried a mouthful of Iain's caramal thingy. Also nice.

Journal entry part the seventh:

Dad and Suzy off again this weekend. Iain leaves for Welly tomorrow. Have the house to myself and the animals, 'cause Lin doesn't really count. :P Not sure what mischief to get up to.
