Boy 1: I fucking hate these stupid adhesive seals they put on CDs.
Boy 2: I dunno. I kinda like them.
Boy 1: Why?
Boy 2: Expending all that effort to get the seal off makes the music that much more enjoyable once you finally get the CD out of the jewel case.
Boy 1: Kinda like taking off a girl's bra?
Boy 2: Yeah, except CDs don't start giggling if it takes you more then fifteen seconds.
I had a very hard time not doing just that this weekend... It was cool to see Aston, and Darren, and the rest of the group. Those two and Milan are gone now. Paul leaves in a week and a half. There's fewer and fewer of the original group. Sad, in a way. Although of course they had to move on eventually.
I've remembered, by the by, what I meant to write up in an entry last week. I needed to go into Studylink, but I'd never been in there before. I knew just whereabouts it was, so on the Thursday I went there. Turns out I needed to go back again on Friday as well. Thing was, on Friday, I couldn't find it again. It was like those disappearing shops, Est Ages and all that. I knew I had to walking right past it, more than once. And finally I did see it, but it was weird how I couldn't find it to begin with.
Last night I dreamt about eating raw snake. Cobra to be precise. It didn't taste all that bad, and it was even better cooked. What a strange mind I have.
Interview Meme.001. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
002. I will respond by asking you five questions of a very intimate and creepily personal nature. Or not so creepy/personal.
003. You WILL update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
004. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
005. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.
Questions from my goddess
virginhuntress.
001. What is your favorite thing about living in NZ?My favourite thing about living in New Zealand is the food. Particularly mince and cheese pies, and all the different Cadbury chocolate bars. Vegemite, weet-bix... stuff that I couldn't get in the States. It's just different here, and I like it so much better.
002. What is your ideal career? My ideal career... I don't know. I wish I could be an explorer on alien planets. That would be cool. Unfortunately, unrealistic at this point in time. What I really want to be is a zoologist and entomologist. Animals and bugs. I'm not so fascinated by bugs, except there are so many of them and they have their uses. Mostly it's animals I love studying though.
003. How were you first introuduced to the world of slash? My very first piece of slash I ever read was some RPS: Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez from *Nsync. But I didn't really get into it until
shiseiji got me fixed on Ronin Warriors, and the yaoi therin. And finally, out of sheer randomness, I decided Remus Lupin and Sirius Black were meant to be a couple, and went in search of fic.
004. As an avid bookreader (like myself), what are you top 3 favorite novels and why? This one is hard. I've read and enjoyed soooo many books.
I think one of my favourites is Nimisha's Ship by Anne McCaffrey. It's sci-fi, my usual genre, and McCaffrey happens to be one of my favourites. I like this one best because it's just a stand alone novel, not part of any of her other series (except, sort of, the Coelura). And Nimisha is a smart, pretty heiress who is no Paris Hilton. She builds space ships, and tests them out... and she rises to the challenge of surviving and exploring when she gets sucked into an uncharted wormhole and spat out at the ass end of the galaxy.
Another favourite is Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind. I like the whole series it belongs to. I get hopelessly attached to certain characters. I love how sarcastic the main chracter, Richard is. I like that when Richard and Kahlan fall in love, it doesn't alter their personalities drastically like what happens to some characters in other novels I can think of (who end up brainless twits that I want to smack just because omg twu wuv).
Lastly, I'm quite attached to The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice. I like that second novel moreso than Interview with the Vampire--although still a good novel and all that--just because Lestat is such a... Brat Prince. I love him. I love those first two books he narrates. *nods*
005. What is a hobby/talent that you have that you keep to yourself?Oooh, making me reveal something I've been keeping hidden. Okay, I have this tendency, when given graph paper, to design the layouts of houses. I'll even draw in furniture and label the rooms. I'll have a key for objects that it's not readily apparent what it's supposed to be. I've also done a couple castles. I just have this strong desire to make a visual representation of a home I daydream about. Or sometimes it's to remember something so when I (finally) get the Sims 2, I can design the house in a neighborhood. I swear I have just as much fun designing the houses as playing with the characters (especially with the money cheat so cost doesn't matter).
