Went to a play-reading last night. That was interesting. Felt rather bad for Grant, 'cause it was his play...like, the first time it was being read by other people, and critiqued... I don't think I could do it, on the off chance I ever wrote a play. And then there was the... gah. It was really funny. Even if I hadn't been familiar with Fitz, Alex, and Enderby, I would have been laughing my arse off just the same.

I do understand that it does need to be cut, in order to fit into a certain length of time. And even that whole scenes could be dropped and others reduced. In some parts, it would improve the play, because good as it was, there were moments when my eyes were starting to glaze over. Still, it was awfully hard on Grant, having his baby poked and prodded and laid open like that.

And then there was this stupid, stupid thing... see, the whole point of the play is just that it's a comedy, something funny involving some of Grant's beloved characters from other media. But because it's a New Zealand play, it's like, they think there should be some deeper meaning/message/commentary that people are supposed to take away with them. Which is stupid. I like it best as merely a funny play, and sure it lightly touches on animal rights (two of the main characters are a bunny and a hedgehog, for gossakes), and politics (she runs for Prime Minister!*), but, ultimately, it's just a very funny play about a 2' tall evil cute pink bunny who not only makes ambitious plans but gets away with them. But of course that's just too simple for some idiotic literary snobbish pricks.

*This isn't particularly spoilery, since it happened in the comics which have been running for 13 years. In fact, many of the scenes and situations brought up in the play were familiar territory for anyone who's read Brunswick. But at the same time, it's a whole new media and story, like out of some parallel universe or something.

Anyway, I had a good time, and we went out for drinks after... ended up at the Sports Bar where Grant's flatmate's band Uncle Monkey... or was it Monkey's Uncle? Uncle Monkey. Anyway, they were performing. Quite good. They did this Cat Steven's song, and the guy singing sounded JUST like Cat Stevens. It was cool.

"We" being Grant, me, Amy that I met last Saturday, her cousin Daniel, and another friend of Grant's, Bret. It was interesting 'cause I discussed hair straightening with Daniel--he works at Whitcoull's, and he called them out when they said he could wear anything to work, even a dress, and he wears a dress to work... well, he's got quite curly hair and he's growing it out, but they won't let him wear the dress and also have long curly hair. So he's seeking advice concerning straightening his hair.

Bret is a big sci-fi fan, so I talked a lot about that with him, not to mention, he's seen Firefly and Serenity. We were laughing about some fandoms where we've never actually seen/read much of the original material, but through a sort of osmosis of being around fans, picked up a whole lot of information and such. Plus there was the sharing of stuff that I didn't know about, or he didn't know much about, that sort of thing.

Oh, I completely forgot to mention that I met Amy. Um, when I was over at Grant's on Saturday. We drank wine and ate cheese, and Amy came over for a bit. Nice girl, very Fitz-like. She's done some of the vocals for the animated version of Brunswick, including Fitz. After she'd left, I got to see Rocky Horror Picture Show for the first time. Very amused. Much love for Tim Curry.

Well, Grant is 33 today. I made him a cake.

And check out this cute evil little pink bunny dancing: her name is Fitz.

MOTOR racing legend Peter Brock died in the driver's seat of a Daytona sports coupe as his navigator Mick Hone pleaded with him: "Peter, Peter, talk to me, talk to me."
Brock, 61, the son of a mechanic and a nine-time winner of the Bathurst 1000 during the 1970s and 80s, is believed to have died instantly in the crash. He was the star attraction of the second Targa West rally, held in bushland near the small community of Gidgegannup, 40km east of Perth.
Brock's death has stunned the Australian motorsport community, and tributes were flowing in last night from political, sporting and community leaders across Australia.

The tragedy comes just days after the death of crocodile hunter Steve Irwin, who died in freak circumstances while filming a documentary on the Great Barrier Reef.

How's that for shit? I was talking to my friend yesterday about this, 'cause he'd actually met Peter Brock on a couple of occasions. I don't really follow racing or anything, but I knew who he was... anyway, my friend said that Brock was a cool guy, that he'd talk the same whether you were just an average joe or some bigwig... nothing but respectful, courteous, that sort of thing. Quite sad, really.

Edit: But then there was this metaquote of [livejournal.com profile] zihuatanejo, with ensuing art by [livejournal.com profile] shinga and icon from [livejournal.com profile] tori_santa. Hee!

Yesterday was simply an utterly gorgeous day outside. Lovely bright blue skies, great big burning thing that shone ALL DAY... yeah, it was nice. Funny to see all the people outside, soaking it up.

Anyway, met up with Grant at about two. First we wandered into the art gallery, 'cause it's free and something simple to do. Plus, y'know, all the artwork to comment on. That didn't take up much time, though, so we headed out to the waterfront to enjoy the sunshine and just sat and talked for a while. It's nice 'cause he's got the quiet, soothing voice that makes me want to talk softly in reponse, and that we're sort of conspiring together about something that not everyone is fit to overhear.

It's so nice 'cause most guys who approach me are either half-drunk dunderheads, or strangely creepy people I can't wait to get away from. And he's neither. Very glad about that. I mean, when we talked on Friday, and he said he'd emailed this lady who'd published this book of comics and he said he felt like such a fanboy all happy-giddy when she emailed him back. He called himself a fanboy. How cool is that?!

It got a bit cold sitting on the waterfront, so we took a walk through the park, and then made our way to Fidel's on Cuba Street 'cause I felt like coffee. And cake. Chocolate cake with a bit of yogurt. Mmm. More talking while drinking, and then more wandering and such 'til he walked me back to the place I'm staying at.

It's really cool. I like that we could talk for three hours without boring each other. I like that I didn't end up dominating the conversation like usually happens when boys are chatting me up and asking question after question. I like that he's articulate and knows all sorts of interesting stuff, and really importantly, is so not creepy.

Seeing him again Sunday.

I can't help it. I love making icons. Batch... well, it's sort of batch #3 but at the same time batch #1 because it's been forever since the original two icon posts of these. Yes... [livejournal.com profile] mikazuki's comics. Surely you've seen them. Or the link to them, on my info page. They're so cute, even the rabid Wolfstar shippers love 'em, yeah?

Okay, los teasers tres:

And the rest of them right heah )

The usual: comment, credit [livejournal.com profile] mikazuki for the art, and some credit to me would be nice. :D But most of all, enjoy!

I made some potterpuff icons, so be sure to credit potterpuffs if you use them. The others are just some cute pics I found when searching for my dragon tattoo. :P Expect a few more posts in the weeks to come.

So, unlike [livejournal.com profile] shiseiji, I don't read and moniter 50 billion webcomics. But I do have a few old faves and new ones, usually picked up either from [livejournal.com profile] shiseiji or [livejournal.com profile] peaseblossom03. So far, lj ones I have are:

-[livejournal.com profile] get_medieval - Imagine if some aliens were on the run from a mob boss, and landed on our planet... during the middle ages. And got stuck there.
-[livejournal.com profile] abe_kroenen - A tale of a love that dare not speak its name. Or something. Abe Sapien, a.k.a. fischboy, and Kroenen, a zombie Nazi. Also featuring Hellboy, Rasputin, Elrond, Arthur Dent, and Miffy the cottonball cat.
-[livejournal.com profile] iharthdarth - Finished, apparently, but there was the suggestion that perhaps there may be the random bonus piece or two. The icon at the end of last post made me 'awww' so hard and even brought a tear to my eye. Still, if you haven't looked at it, there are the archives.
-[livejournal.com profile] wizzart - There's nothing quite like mocking HP and its fandom, and doing it through paint. Ron is such a cutie.
-[livejournal.com profile] potterpuffs - Not, technically, a comic. But still full of funny and cute pictures. And many icons, or the bases with which to make your own icons.
-[livejournal.com profile] mistletoesquest - Well, actually, the comic can be found here, but there's a community so you know when it's been updated, get polls, sometimes see special stuff earlier than other folks. 'S about a woman who suddenly found herself an elf in another world, and is trying to find her way home.

The other webcomics:
-Van Von Hunter - Hunter of Evil ...Stuff.
-Megatokyo - Two gamers get drunk and take a one way trip to Japan, then run out of money before they can get home because Largo keeps spending it on B33R and computer parts, and so they must find jobs and stop buying so much B33R.
-Mac Hall - Dorm life. *was greatly amused*

Also, any opportunity to pimp [livejournal.com profile] mikazuki's Snupin comics (completed). And I used to read Always Tomorrow which is morbid and hilarious, BUT hasn't updated since February. Le sigh.
And then there's the Memory Meme.

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don't speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want, either good or bad. I promise not to come after you with a spatula, either way.

When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people remember about you.

Edit: Steven Lynch - "If I Were Gay". The video's kinda crappy and the sound not quite right, BUT it does get the message across. *giggles*

Used up all but 11c of credit on my phone last night. That's 11 cents from an original $35 that I got way back a Christmastime. So I topped it up today. Now I can flirt and tease Peter again (although the last two texts were about the news, actually. It was interesting going online to see how lj was taking it). I also got a text this morning from the guy at Scarfies asking if I was interested in being in their next promo: body painting.
Will think about this. Will ask for details, too, methinks. *does so*
Ooh, hey, House is on tonight. Yay for snark. "I know why you like it." "Yeah?" "Because of the snark." From going to asking what, exactly, IS snark to knowing why I like many of the shows I like without me having explicity stated as such... Alright, no more waxing eternal and reminsiscing about times with the boy.
Had Andrea over last night, to watch some movies. Equilibrium, Spawn, and O Brother Where Art Thou. Had quite a nice night. I even managed to make somewhat decent French toast. Or is that Freedom toast now? I think it could have been better, but it was passable. And smothered in butter and maple syrup as mine was (I love that word. Smothered. *snicker*)
Haha, every time a text comes in, the computer speakers static a little, and you just have to sit there and see which phone is going to beep/click/vibrate. Body painting: "Starts on thursday nights in 2 weeks time. There is 2 prizes. One for best boy and one 4 best girl. You can get any one you want to paint you or I can get some one 4 you. You get painted out the back and only come on stage after you're painted and most are usually nude although some wear a g string. Every person gets a bar tab just like the last time. The prizes are $1000 cash."
Oh bloody fucking hell. If only I could borrow [livejournal.com profile] pandoras_evil_t's boy Damian to paint me--he's a bloody good artist. Hmmm. I will have to think about this.

xans: Xans (Pathetic Bastard)
The other night I was walking up the stairs to the dining hall, and I spotted Shan was also approaching the hall. Naturally, I slowed down so he could catch up and we'd queue together. "You going to dinner?" he asked. I almost said it. I don't know why I didn't, even if it's Shan. "Nope, my tapeworm's been acting up again, so I'm punishing it by letting it smell food it's not getting! Here's your sign."

...It was five p.m. It's the dining hall. Why else would I be going to the dining hall at the same time I do every night? Silly boy.

A joke someone on my f-list posted recently )

[livejournal.com profile] miyumiyu has some really cute Snupin art if anyone's interested. Incredibly cute. Quite likely the Cutest Thing Cori May Have Possibly Ever Drawn to date. I am entirely open to the possibility that she will manage to draw something (or even somethings!) cuter one day. You never can tell.
Nyarghhh. I don't want to study for my Chem test. But if I don't I will fail it, likely even worse than with the Physics test. That would not be cool. So, studying. Going through my study guide, taking notes on all that stuff I just wasn't getting. I don't know what it is with my Physics and Chem lectures, but I swear that stuff goes in one ear and straight out the other. Only the Bio classes have any affect on me, and even then, only Bio of Animals is in any way remotely fascinating.
The Physics lecturer is a cool guy though. He's kinda odd, but he's British. He makes us laugh all the time with some of the simply wierd things he says. His demonstrations are often entertaining, mostly because they screw up. We've had a different lecturer for each unit of Chem, and none of them really interest me, although this current guy is kinda amusing w/ some of the stuff he says. In Bio of Cells I can get chocolate for volunteering, hmmmm. Bio of Animals we've also had three different lecturers, and Dr. Death has been the coolest.
It's so funny when they start talking about sex. Whether it's bug sex (oh, the Sneaky Fuckers, how clever they are!), or conjugation which is sex for bacterial cells, it gets funny b/c some people *coughs* just aren't that grown up. Honestly, though? So glad I'm not a bacterial 'female' cell. Because what happens is that the 'male' cell comes along and forms this form sex pilus that brings the two cells together, and spins off it's DNA that it inserts into the 'female' cell, turning it into another 'male' cell. (This would not be a bad thing, the whole turning into a guy b/c omg tehgaysecks, except for the fact the bloody genes dictate I'd have to go impregnate some other chick. Not so cool then.)
Shan has my bloody pen. Yes, I'm aware that comment seems random. Consider it stream of consciousness. I lent it to him last night--ooh, boy next to me has nice cologne (ha! now that's random!)--so he could do his studying, and I forgot to get it back. Normally I wouldn't worry. The other day I lost this really nice mechanical pencil that had been part of a pen/pencil set mum gave me for my 18th b-day, except I was never overly attached to the pencil. But that pen? Yeah, sure, it's just a run of the mill, typical Massey pen. But I like that pen. It writes well. I'm a bit more fussy about losing the pens that write well.
I am in a weird mood tonight. And I'm aware my brain isn't making much sense. Hell, you should see what happens when I'm trying to write notes...
- 'insects' becomes 'incest'
- 'chain' becomes 'chan' (typing that almost became Shan)
- 'grouped' becomes 'groped'
- Seeing the part of a chemical formula, HOOC, I focus on OOC and grin...
Definitely weird. I'll spare you more of this, yeah?
Well, this gave me at least twenty minutes of entertainment. It made me think of [livejournal.com profile] shiseiji. I expect she'd have loads of fun with this. You know how when someone tells you not to do something? Or you tell yourself not to do something? But then someone gives you an opening to do just that... just one peek/smell/bite, and suddenly you're hooked. Yeah, that. Y'know. Temptation. The little devil on your shoulder that constantly beats up the little angel on the other shoulder. And you just can't resist. Especially when it says...

*watches as all her readers are lost in the abyss* Oh, damn.

xans: Xans (Darkness)
So [livejournal.com profile] miyumiyu did that meme of leave a comment and I'll take an interest or two of yours and make a picture. And I left a request. *grins* I like mine.

woo, nearly had bad coding here )

Well, last night, Shan came over at about nine-thirty/ten so we could watch the tape of Scrubs and Lost that I borrowed from [livejournal.com profile] blue_raven. Unfortunately, I'm technically handicapped sometimes, and couldn't figure out how to get the VCR to cooperate and play the damn video. So, we got distracted and watched the last half of Pleasantville, and then Shrek, while eating the roses chocolates Shan brought over. And then we wandered over to Shan's hall to use the VCR there, and had two minute noodles while we watched the video.
So, the hour and a half I thought I'd be spending with him got extend ed closer to three times that. *grins* I went to bed at about two this morning, but I was wide awake just after nine. Kinda weird, but meh. Sleeping is wierd because if I lay on one side it hurts my tender shoulder, and the other side hurts my tender arse.
Went to the library today and returned several books that were due. Then turned around and took out ten more. Hee! Definitely set for books for the next few weeks.
Anyway, that's about all there's worth writing about. I feel boring. I'm sorry. No one else wants me to interview them? I only got one request in the last entry. Sad.

Title: The Ultimate Flame
Author: [livejournal.com profile] miyumiyu
Fandom: HP duh
Pairing: None! Although there is a slight reference to something slashy near the end. :P
Rating: R, because of the naughty language.
Summary/Notes/Dedications/Credit: Sirius Black and Severus Snape engage in a little friendly banter via notes in class. The "notes" are taken from The Best Flame in the World. The genius who wrote it is unknown, but I give them full credit although I mangled some of it and changed a few words. :P Also responsible is [livejournal.com profile] _xanthia, who after reading it, mentioned that she could imagine some of those things being said to Snape. Then I said, well why don't I write a fanfiction about it? So she kicked me in the arse and screamed DO IT (not really), and here it is! Couldn't have done it without her. Also, this is dedicated to the person who left that very flame on one of my stories. I LOVE YOU MAN.

Comment with the words "Interview me!" and I will ask you five random questions. Then you post the answers in your journal with the same instructions.

My questions from [livejournal.com profile] yeliah_whiskey
1. Shag Marry Cliff: Tamihere, Dunne and Brash? Oooh. Politics. Damn you. I haven't been listening to the news lately AT ALL. Not any news. Let alone the politics. And it's an election year, isn't it? Anyway... I'm deciding to be completely superficial here.
Shag: Dunne
Marry: Tamihere
Cliff: Brash

2. Severus Snape has just walked into your lounge on a rainy afternoon whilst you are reading a very intriguing book. What happens next? I'm tempted to make him wait until I finish the chapter, but then I realise he must be wet from the rain. So I help him out of his wet clothes and find him something more comfortable to wear, and distract him with tea/coffee and food. I make sure his wand is in a safe place (read: anywhere that keeps him from using it to hex me). When the clothes he came in are dry, I trick him into taking off what he's currently wearing, and withold giving him his clothes back until he's made it worth my while. *grins*

3. What's the one thing that you would buy riiiiiight this minute if you had all the money in the world that you needed? I'd like to say, plane tickets for all my friends to come visit me, but I'm selfish and want a paid lj account and extra icon space.

4. Which leads me to ask, what would you do with a million dollars? Invest half of it. Buy a lot of things like a new computer, CD player, CDs, DVDs, games, etc. Throw a party.

5. Can I have some? Haha, how much is some? I'd probably buy gifts rather than hand out cold cash.

So [livejournal.com profile] pornish_pixies is holding a Fantasy Fest and I left a request. Hopefully it will get adopted. Remus/Regulus (with a side order of Sirius?) dom!Remus, dub. consent and possible chan, little angst, breathplay, ties for light bondage. Best of luck for anyone else on my f-list who made a fantasy request!
I told Shan how I had a tape with Wedsnesday's episodes of Scrubs and Lost, so hopefully I will be able to find/see him again to arrange a time so we can watch it together. ([livejournal.com profile] blue_raven, thank you for giving me an excuse to spend an hour and a half in his company!) I am so gone. Earlier today between the Physics and Chem lectures I was standing up and stretching, and only after I'd spotted Shan the same time he spotted me (and waved at each other), did I realize I was standing there, sort of leaning back against the wall behind me, with half my midriff bared as my shirt had ridden up. I must have looked a mix between relaxed and almost provocative.
My shoulder aches. Ahh... to think I have two more of these injections to get. It's kind of funny, because they're for under 20s, and I won't be twenty when I get the third and final shot. I don't want to be turning 20. I'm still a teenager, damnit! Just under three months, really. I hope I'm not making anyone feel old in comparison.
Ah well, three day weekend ahead. I have several library books due. Will definitely see to it I get them turned in.

xans: Xans (Slytherins Do It Better)
Naughty, naughty Kool-Aid )

xans: Xans (Snarksexual Tom)
So, it's wierd that it's Thursday already. This week has flown. I have a mid-semester test next week on Physics. I'm so totally screwed. It's been a nice day, thankfully. I had a horrible night last night as it was absolutely freezing... but I actually understood the stuff in my Chem tutorial, and managed to finish my lab early enough to have something of a lunch before my two lectures. AND I got a chocolate bar in the second lecture when I volunteered to help with the demonstration.
I had to displace three people to get out of my seat, but hey. She even had mars bars on offer and still had a hard time getting the six volunteers. Even without the chocolate to motivate me, I sort of thought I should volunteer. I hate how it's such a huge class and yet she still has a hard time getting a little help for certain demonstrations.
When I got MSN I decided to ask Donald about his sn (Wenn sie e fr√ľnd het, isch das e grund, aber kes hindernis! Translation: If she has a guy, it is not a thing to stop you...but a reason), and then got 20 questions from him and the boys with him. Nothing like having them ask me if this guy has a chance with that girl, or my opinions on certain boys. Lucky for them I answered, and honestly too. I do wonder if I'm going to be able to look them in the eyes later...
Over half an hour until dinner--Ooh look there goes Giles--and I'm kinda bored. Maybe I'll proposition Ange to another game of Hexic. *snickers* Asking someone to play Hexic always reminds me of a comic by [livejournal.com profile] miyumiyu that is the reason [livejournal.com profile] shiseiji was on MSN as Let's Hex for a while. We're such perverts. Hehe.

xans: Xans (Voldemort)
( And you can call him RRY )

Harry Potter JTHM style? Siriusly rocks my socks. I love it so much.
I went to the library yesterday. I got 2001, A Space Oddessy, and Terry Pratchett's Bromeliad and Johnny Maxwell triolgies (Forgot Carpet people in my excitement, damnit. I haven't read those books since I was twelve.), and I couldn't find Wizard's First Rule, but I found this other book by Goodkind called Debt of Bones, and from the blurb on the back, it appears to be a short(ish) story involving Zedd. I think. I haven't read it yet, but I'm pretty sure that's what it's about and I hope I'm not going to be disappointed.
Speaking of books, I totally made Lisita's day last Friday. She's only read the first three Harry Potter books. Never read the fifth one because she's never been able to get her hands on Goblet of Fire. Well, let's see. I own a whole TWO books from that series: Philosopher's Stone (Sorcerer's for you lot stuck in America), and Goblet of Fire. Of those two, which happens to be in my immediate possession? Goblet of Fire. So, now she's happily borrowing my book.

xans: Xans (Moony)
my pet!

I'm horrible. I laugh when he falls in the water. He's so cute when he flails, too.
For [livejournal.com profile] robofrog and [livejournal.com profile] _xanthia who like scarves. The pups, yours to color in and keep! That's the first time I've had something fannish dedicated to me by a complete stranger. That I know of, at any rate. It's pretty awesome.
:( Absolutely everyone on my contacts list was offline. Usually there's at least one, even if he or she is in (away) status. Not even one of those, for once. It was kinda lonely. There's a couple names there now, though. Mind you, MSN has seemed pretty dead, late. Except yesterday, when I had four people chatting with me at the same time. it was weird. But cool, because I got Andrea playing bejewelled, heard from Biz that there's another book in the Sword of Truth series out, and about her creepy yet awesome dream featuring Lan, Richard, and Zed, heard about the shnappi song thing from Gino, and spoke to dad.
Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] peaseblossom03, for posting the link to this. It's in my memories now.

xans: Xans (Love)

I own Cori-stuff! Squee!

I love bug-eyed Sirius and pouncing Remus. Plus the one with only colored ties is awesome.

Thank you also for short letter, because letters are fun, even when you use emoticons in them.

Edit: These quotes need to stick around somewhere because I like them.

"If he has a problem with that, I swear I'll jam a squirrel in him." ~Cori

"Ladies of the Irish persuasion are unique in their character. They are a combination of a little girl, mother, hooker, and nun. They go from Bambi to Banshee in 3.7 seconds. They can bat their eyes, or blacken yours. They can love you with a passion and make you feel like a king. They can be frail and strong at the same time. Depending on their mood, they'll chastise you for drinking...or match you pint for pint. The ladies keep Irish men from killin' themselves and each other. But, they're like the grace of God... uncomprehendable but indispensable."

Gorgeous pic of Lucius/Sevurus can be found here. For those of you who care. Thanks for sending it my way, Cel. :D
Today Cathy called me. Her number is one number different from mine. Hehe. Rhibber gave her my number. Anyway, asked if I had any plans and then invited me over. She has to look after her baby nephews... one is almost one and the other is... I forget. Still really small. And so it was watch some Roseanne, CSI, and the movie Radio, listen to Steven Lynch and then Dane Cook, all the while looking after a pair of baby boys. We also played the Sims on the PS2 for a little bit.
The baby was nice and not too bawly... the one year old got a bit loud sometimes, and we kept having to keep prying him away from stuff he shouldn't mess with. He also had a fascination with shiny things (a.k.a. my necklace, watch, navel piercing, rings...). But still, they were darlings mostly. Thankfully.
Tomorrow I'm going to see Shark Tale with Brit. Yay!

"Die fast and quiet when they interrogate you or live so long that they are ashamed to hurt you anymore."

"Don't watch the underclass. It's more likely that the warlords will kill you."

Jenny Holzer, two of her plaques from the Survivor Series.

Rahhh... so tired. Walked and stood and walked so much. Saw so much. It was intense. It was awesome. And Wytch, I'll be damned if I remember the name of the portrait either. Know which one you mean though. V. cool. Mum and I were there with her friend Alicia and Alicia's S.O. Mike.
It was so weird to see some of those paintings right there in front of me. I mean, you see prints of some of it all the time. But they never show the texture of the paint... it's so cool! I just wanted to run my fingers over them. Of course I couldn't and didn't, but I wanted to so bad.
Of course after we'd had our fill of the exhibition stuff we went upstairs and looked at all the stuff on the third and fourth floors. Pretty fun. Neat stuff. Saw those plaques and wrote them down on the paper bag holding my one card, two post cards, and mum's magnet of Van Gogh prints.
We were there about two and a half hours before our stomachs were empty pits demanding to be filled. Wandering over to Pike Place we finally settled on lunch in Kell's Pub. Lovely Irish music to go with the good food. Awesome soda bread, and mum and I both got sausage rolls that were soooo good.
Here is your horoscope for Saturday, September 4: Now this is a day you can live with. Your fondness for good food, sweet music and fun companions will be running on high -- and you'll have plenty of company in your pursuit of all those things. *laughs outright* Brilliant!
We stopped by the Tea House right next to the pub and I was more than a little amused when this African gentleman walked in and was talking with the saleswoman... and I propositioned mum to get me a Cadbury Flake bar since she was buying a recipe book to do with ice tea. Then we went to the Bon Macy's (Gary had given mum a $100 gift card as an unbirthday present) while Alicia and Mike went home.
There we found jewelry and I scored well in the lingerie section, and mum got spoiled with a make-over. The woman who did it was so cool. We both thought she was German or Austrian but it turns out she was French. She had the coolest stocking/pantyhos I've ever seen. And gave mum a good make-over. So mum got some products and then planned to stop by Rite Aid for cheaper versions of the lip gloss and eye-shadow.
We had to stop by this one meat place at Pike Place Market to get some pork sausage meat and such for Gary. And we looked into this one clothing store mum loves--she spoiled herself but wouldn't spoil me :( hehe. We also stopped by the Spanish Table to get some more of the drinking chocolate stuff and I was winked at by the man behind the counter. *coughs* I don't know what it is with Seattle and older men but there's always one I notice noticing me.
Saw the cruiseliner the Diamond Princess at port, which was kind of cool. I've never really seen a cruise ship in person before, just seen 'em on TV and stuff. It's not the same. Made me remember how I'd love to, one day, take a trip on one just because I'm damn curious about 'em.
