It's been very nice weather-wise lately, gives me high hopes for a nice summer with plenty of sunshine to tan in and calm seas to kayak on. Fingers crossed.

So I got my hair cut today. I'm rather slack about that sort of thing, Apparently you're supposed to do it every 8 weeks or so and I just can't justify it. It's hair ffs. But admittedly 8 months is a bit of a gap. Anyway, it was good to get it done. Of course, because I got it dyed as well the whole thing took just over 3 hours hahaha. But it's worth it. I took some length off and got it thinned out and it's a glorious shade of red, and I look prettier.

My main motivation to finally get it done is that there's a work-related awards dinner tomorrow night involving some dressing up, apparently it's themed like a night at the Oscars. So Alan told me if ever there's a time to fuss over my hair, it's for tomorrow night. And then I shall doll my face up and wear one of my fancy dresses... most likely the Chinese silk dress but Alan hasn't seen me in the other two so I may need to model in them for his opinion as well. Whatever I wear, I shall indeed look pretty, and I imagine it's a good excuse to get photos taken.

Have not needed to take Gratch to the vet, it appears she's healed up all by herself. Still need to get the flea and worm stuff, though.

It's very rare that I write fanfic, but I've been getting ideas and it's so frustrating because I can think up these glorious stories or situations but do you think I can write them down as the play themselves in my head? *sigh* It's Ba'al. I swear he grows on a person like a fungus, and, being what he is, just cannot shut up, and he knows I want fanfic with him in it so obviously I must fill that gap in fandom if no one else is. Except, of course, I can daydream up stuff all the time and then have the hardest time writing it in a way that I think other people will find interesting and entertaining.

Look at him plotting. He's such a charming devil.

Every day, I cannot quite get over the fact I can look out my living room window and see the ocean. Than in 2 minutes I can go from my front doorstep to sandy beach. It's unreal. I always grew up with The Beach being an exotic destination, a real treat. Now, I get to live by one every day. If we ever have to move, it won't ever be the same as When We Lived at the Beach.

Speaking of which, got to go kayaking yesterday for the first time of this season. 'Twas glorious. My muscles ache. I aim to get fitter at this whole kayaking thing. I honestly don't know how I managed to shed all that weight I'd put on in the last few years, and I'm soooo proud to be slipping into size 12 jeans again, but my tummy is still a little soft and flabby for my taste. I need my own gloves and seat for my kayak though. My other aim for this summer is to get ridiculously brown and avoid burning as much as possible.

...I left the laundry on the line. Oops.

I am also considering cutting my hair again. It's really long, and thick, and summer is the time I don't want to fuss about with it. I have a style I'd like to try but am not sure how well it will work with my curly hair. It looks gorgeous with straight hair. I'm just... lazy about straightening my hair all the time.

Watched a few movies recently, and I must say...

The Hurt Locker -- SUCKS. Seriously bad. I wanted to shoot all the characters in that, and, just... horribly, horribly sucky.

From Paris With Love -- YES. Funny, action bull-shit. The oddest pairing, not what I would ever have thought of, but very well played. Also... John Travolta gets a Royale With Cheese.

Prince of Persia -- I am unfamiliar with the source material, but I enjoyed it. It was a good fun adventure with cool combinations of action, snark, and mystic stuff. I Not a role I'm used to Gyllenhaal in but he wasn't bad.

Music...

Kind of in love with Bruno Mars at the moment. His music is quite catchy and his voice is not unpleasant.

Also, Glee. Cannot believe I got sucked into it but DAMN can they sing.

Brooke Fraser, I like her still. There's Something In the Water indeed.

Mumford sons - little lying man also a favourite at the moment.

Oh, I updated my status on Facebook but I guess I never got around to mentioning it here... on the 19th of November was my 3 year anniversary of getting together with Alan. He told me once that if we made 3 years, he would consider making it legal. So... I am now ENGAGED. I don't have a ring yet because of certain financial hiccups, but it will come. Oh yes, it will come. I'm looking at sapphires.

Looking at a medieval/fantasy style wedding. Possibly in a Jan/Feb time of year. Not 2011, obviously.

Mystery of the missing hairbrush solved. Alan borrowed it to try and pry open the disc drawer of his dead computer. Forgot to tell me and forgot to put it back.

Went to the beach with him, Joe, and Joe's ladyfriend who's name I can't remember... fell asleep on the towel for a bit. But fortunately I had put on sunscreen before I did.

I ran into that old co-worker again, she was wearing a freaking name tag, and I still only caught that her name begins with S. I feel like such a loser that I cannot for the life of me remember her name. She was looking really frazzled, lol.

Tempting to get a hold of all the Sims 2 expansions... lol.

There are... certain items that I just don't share with other people. About the only exception I make for this is for Alan, because given the amount of bodily fluids we've shared, it's not really gonna matter on way or the other. But there are things. Towels, toothbrushes, razors/trimmers, hairbrushes. And okay, maybe an exception for the hairbrush can be made, if a friend asks me.

Except... one of my hairbrushes is missing from its drawer and I don't remember being asked if anyone could borrow it. Given that Alan doesn't HAVE hair, he's not using it. Heaven doesn't live with us anymore and she would have asked first, which leaves Joe. And I don't see why Joe's using my hairbrush, unless one of his new ladyfriend's is the recipient, which still begs the question, Why wasn't I asked?!

Maybe it's just me, but I'm a little weirded out at the possibility of running a brush through my hair that might have hairs from someone else in it. I just know I'm going to have to clean that brush before I use it again, if/when it ever shows up. Not only that, but my brush being missing has messed with my routine.

See, I have really long, thick curly hair. The best time for me to brush it is when it is wet, after washing it. If I do it when it's dry, I end up looking like a bit of a frizzball. And it takes two hairbrushes and a comb. The first brush is my stiff-bristled brush, that isn't going to bend or snap when it encounters some of the knots I can acquire. That's round one. Then I had the nice hair serum stuff that's supposed to help anti-frizz, anti-tangle, followed by the softer bristled brush (the one that's missing) that can handle any of the small knots the bigger brush may have missed. Then comes the mousse which is supposed to help the curls stay together rather than falling apart into a mass of frizz (see a pattern here?) and I run through my hair with a comb before tying it up to keep it out of my face.

So having a brush missing kind of messes with that routine, not to mention the whole weirdness of the thought of that brush running through someone else's hair. Someone I don't know. *shudder*

Got mad at Sims 2 yesterday, damn nanny went home when she wasn't supposed to and the toddlers got taken away by social services. I hate it when the game does stuff like that to me.

Anyway, gonna dye my hair red again, probably later this afternoon.

Each player of this game starts off with 10 weird things/habits/little known facts about yourself. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 10 weird habits/things/little known facts as well as state this rule clearly. At the end you need to choose 10 people to be tagged and list their names. No tagbacks.

1. I used to suck my thumb until I was about 8 and burned my thumb on a sparkler on Guy Fawkes. Having a bandaid there weaned me of the habit.

2. I also used to sleep with this bandana that was a picture of a pegasus but I lost it my first year of uni.

3. I crack my knuckles, and, if I'm not wearing shoes, I'll crack my toes as well.

4. When I was 14 I had a dream that ended up giving me the most intense feeling of deja vu when it happened exactly as I dreamed it, months later.

5. I term the years between 9 & 13 my "ugly" years, when I had super low self-esteem and no belief I was in any way ever going to be an attractive woman.

6. I can walk around without clothes unself-consciously, but, take out my navel ring, and I immediately feel naked even if I've clothes on. It makes no difference whether I've got earrings in or not.

7. I find it amusing that most people are embarrassed to catch me in my pajamas than I am embarrassed to be around people when I'm wearing pajamas.

8. The nail on my left little toe fell off when I was a kid; I have no idea why, but it never grew back right ever again.

9. I maintain that all women should paint their toenails yummy colours, while being slightly ashamed I have not painted my own toenails in over a year.

10. My favourite part of the human body, male or female, is the area between navel and groin, particularly that little dip by the hip that I forget what it's called.

I tag: [livejournal.com profile] pandoras_evil_t, [livejournal.com profile] macjinx, [livejournal.com profile] the_chief_80, [livejournal.com profile] _college_girl_, [livejournal.com profile] uptheduff, [livejournal.com profile] diea, [livejournal.com profile] ervinai, [livejournal.com profile] autumnjedigirl, [livejournal.com profile] simple__man, & [livejournal.com profile] shiseiji. Okay, so, um, Saturday was my best mate [livejournal.com profile] pandoras_evil_t's birthday. Her 21st, in fact. Big shindig like thing planned. Ish.

Well, dinner at Valentines where we all dressed v. v. nice and somehow managed not to get pished or spend a hell of a lot on the bar tab. And then Damo, Ange, Anita and I were off out on the town (after Ange and I did some creative changing in the car to clothes more fit for bar crawling).

But, let me start at the beginning.

Early afternoon found me frustrated and swearing, as my attempts at ironing the wrinkles out of my dress appeared to be... nonexistant. Given that it's a dryclean only dress and I had to use the low setting on the iron, I mean, I don't know. I don't know a fucking thing about ironing, but the wrinkles were not fucking off. And then Ange texted me asking if I wanted to come over early, watch some SG-1, and still hang out while she and Damo were off at Zuki's where she was getting all sorts of pampered.

I still hadn't straightened my hair. But okay. Shoved things into a bag, and headed on over. A couple streets away from her place, I looked down and, to my shock, disovered a Samsung mp3 player that, while clearly having been run over at least once (the headphones were crushed) was still intact and working. And whoever it was that lost it has a fairly decent taste in music. Now I just gotta find myself the software, somewhere, somehow...

Watched SG-1. Ange came home in time to just about cry over Daniel dying after pulling a Spock. And then we had a minor Danielgasm at the special features tribute to him. Hee.

Dinner was fine. She got lots of cool gifts, and I was almost (but not quite) tempted to try the baby octopus they had on offer... but they were just a little too disturbing. And Ange wasn't nearly drunk enough for us to trick/dare her into trying one. No matter.

First bar we were at, decided to play some pool, doubles--Me and Anita vs. Ange and Damo, which was mostly us against Damo. Ange had only played pool once before, and, well, she's never really been known for her gaming prowess. But it's not like Anita and I kicked ass. We did win the first game, and then rather spectacularly lost the second game. And owe our final victory to Ange, although the chances of us winning that one seemed a mite better than theirs, any how.

Highlights of the game include:
Ange sinking the white ball plent of times, but the only times she sunk any other ball was the black ball to bring them, and then us, to victory.
Damo being the only one to knock the white ball off the table.
Damo aiming for either two of balls and bouncing the white over both of them straight into the middle pocket.
Not to mention a couple of shots I made that, well, it was a fluke I actually sunk a ball. But still, we had a lot of fun.

Also, while we were playing, we were... approached by a group of guys on a Stag night. They each had a list of things they had to do, and, well, we helped them out a little. Um. I helped them out most. See, the groom needed to acquire a pair of women's panties.

So I sold mine to him for $20.

And then I ended up giving up my pantyhose to one of the other guys, while Ange gave another her stockings.

This may be whiy I oughtn't go out on the town anymore. I do crazy stuff that involves a fair amount of shamelessness, and, usually, a lacking of sobriety. I go and do it stone fucking sober. Go me!

We wandered around a couple other places, but the music was rather shite and I didn't have a real hankering for getting pished. Also, I forgot to think about the fact that straightening my hair and not wearing my glasses makes me not resemble my passport photo so much. Once place I had to give my name and birthdate and have both bouncers look at me vs. my picture. Anyway, we went home about one something in the morning.

Slept late; missed Anita leaving but found $20 she dropped by the door. Um, decided to watch Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure 'til Ange and Damo got up. Not long afer they got up and the movie finished, we went to the Base to look into acquire Season 6 of SG-1. Well, first we had lunch at BK, where I had possibly the best burger I have had in ages. The Ultimate Double Whopper? It's... a proper size burger. With, like, all sorts of tasty ingredients. I was very satisfied.

Anyway, Wharehouse at the Base didn't have Season 6, but the Hilcrest store did, so we went over there and got it, plus a couple of movies, and some meat for dinner, then we went to Ange's mum's. She'd taken most of Ange's presents and the leftover cake home just so we didn't have to worry about them in the car while we were out on the town. Grabbed all that stuff and then went back to their place.

Yay, watched the first couple discs... had kinda forgotten how cute in a lost puppy kind of way Corin Nemec/Jonas Quinn can be. Also was amused at the return of McKay, after the poor guy got shipped off to Siberia (although he was being a right royal prick, that time). Still, I love me some SG-1.

And now I'm caught up on my f-list. Yay.

So Eileen kindly took pictures of me last Saturday, "before" and "after" pictures from getting my hair cut (and straightened). I... got a lot of hair cut. It was a huge pile. Kinda wish I'd managed to get a picture of that, too. Ah, well. Anyway, Eileen said she'd get the pictures to me by Wednesday, on a CD, but... it's Thursday, and no CD. Damnit.

Not going to push her about it, though. She was nice enough to take pictures in the first place. My f-list can wait to see the effects, methinks.

Nothing else happening at all, really. All my Christmas candy has been consumed...no more chocolate to satisfy my cravings. Damn.

Oh, yes, this is my first entry of the year. Woo. I totally failed to get drunk on New Years, despite an abundance of Jack Daniel's, tequila, sambuca...yeah. There was alcohol. I just wasn't drinking it. And I totally tuned out the ramblings and confessions of Ange and Jas'n, who were pished. But then, I was trying to watch more Stargate SG-1, damnit!

We also finished watching Firefly and Serenity also. Plus the outtakes. So many more lj icons make sense to me now. Liek whoa. :D

Sunday, I came home from work and promptly had a hot bath to soak in, 'cause I was tired and dirty... anyway, cleaned up and everything, and discovered in a discussion with Suzy afterwards that Dad had just cleaned the bathroom earlier that day. So I just sorta undid all his hard work. But then, this afternoon, I finally got to doing my chore of mopping the floors, and had Dad promptly walk over the part of floor I'd just mopped. So he got his own back, in a way.

Was all set to sleep in the morning, but decided to get up just after nine... and it's just as well, since the lawn mower ladies showed up not long after and it would have been hard to sleep through that. I did laundry instead. And then I straightened my hair.

Mmm, parcel for my brother from mum arrived. There's an acryllic blanket in there that's for me. At least, I figure it's for me. Mum said there was something in the parcel for me, and I looked at the customs thingy... anyway, the acryllic blanket is to replace the one that has been misplaced/lost in the move of my shit from the States to down here. At least, I still haven't found it if it even made it here. Anyway, better email her and let her know it arrived safe and sound.

Dunno why, seem to be playing at Domestic Goddess today. Mopping, laundry, changing my sheets, and then I baked some cheese muffins this afternoon. Mmm. Cheesy muffin goodness.

No idea what I'm going to make myself for tea tonight. What goes with cheese muffins? Probably something with bacon.

So work started up at the Christmast tree place last weekend, but thanks to weather and it still being November, business was pretty slack and I basically got paid for doing very little. In fact, I'm not sure I didn't cut my first tree for the year until Thursday. Yeah, Thursday.

THIS weekend on the otherhand, was v. v. busy. We sold 230 trees on Saturday (first Saturday of December last year, we sold 130.) and 140 trees yesterday. It was all out. I am, to say the least, a trifle exhausted. But I have tomorrow and Wednesday to recover.

I was down to 17c of credit on my phone, so last night after work I rushed to the dairy with some of my first week's pay to put some money on my phone and buy some chocolate. Then I texted Ange about coming around to watch CSI Miami and Numb3rs to make fun of Horatio and perve the Eppes brothers. It was all good. We drank wine and all that.

*laughs* I'd brought around my Black Books DVDs a week or so ago to introduce Ange and Damo to that particular brand of amusement... and there is a new addition to their collection of DVDs now as Damian promptly went out and bought their own copy of the entire series. Hehe.

Came home from work today, forgetting completely that it's Monday and that my (step?) neice Amarah and nephew Izayah would be here while their parents went and played tennis. But it was pretty sweet. Amarah was shy of me at first, as usual, but she warmed up pretty quick. It was really funny after my shower and I was combing my hair, and she sat there with her little hair brush copying my moves. Not to mention before that, at dinner, I stole Dad's plate while he was distracted by Izayah, so Suzy and I could pretend we were going to eat the last of his pie. Suzy and I looked over to see Amarah trying to pick up Izayah's plate to mimic my actions of putting it up by Suzy.

She is the cutest little thing. For whatever reason, she's developed some attachment to my glasses case, because she's gone into my room two or three times to retrieve it from my nightstand. I don't mind, I just don't understand why she feels the need to pick it up.

I didn't have the time, but I should have asked Carla when she and Gene came to pick up the kids, about giving me a haircut. I just had a huge battle of untangling it (resolving in the form of a fucking huge hairball, no noticeable hair-loss on my part, and a shitload of frizz) and I'd really, really like to cut it short again. It hasn't grown at all since I had it trimmed in August, at least, I don't think it has, and I may very well have reached the limit my hair will grow to, as it prefers to be extroadinarily thick rather than a great, great length. No matter. I'd like it above my shoulders again. I'll ask Carla about it later, I s'pose.

I also wanted to straighten my hair, tomorrow maybe, but it looks as if the weather is refusing the cooperate. A fucking brilliant weekend of sunshine, and the two days I get off and it's going to fucking rain. Gods be damned. Eh, bien. Some other time, I'm sure. It'll be a piece of cake if I get my hair cut, though, yeah? 1 & 1/2 hours shaved down to, probably not more than half an hour or so. I should think. That would be brilliant.

I have no fucking clue what to get anybody for Christmas. Except a fake engagement ring for Ange. Other than that? No idea. Am thinking about participating in the Christmas Card Exchange Meme, but, at the same time, don't know if/when I'll have the time & energy to get my shit together. So it might be best if I just sit back this year...I don't want to disappoint anyone.

I was walking back to my place yesterday and I got wolf-whistled at from a passing van. *was amused* It's been a while since that's happened. I also wasn't surprised, considering I was wearing a short skirt, knee-high socks, and had my hair down since I straightened it on Thursday.

Drank a bunch of bourbon and coke with Glenn and Paul... possibly volunteered to be a cook/bartenter/slave on a sailing expedition. Forgot to have dinner. Had fun watching Distraction UK. Good show, that.

Seeing Grant today. Hopefully he's feeling better--he was a bit depressed about Thursday's playreading. It's gotta be hard, sharing his creation like that and having them tell him what's wrong with it.

Switched in new icons. Again.

I feel wiped out. Maybe it's because it took me three hours to straigten my hair yesterday--and parts of it are still wavy like they shouldn't be. Or maybe it's because I just spent the last couple hours switching in new icons, as well as cleaning out my f-list--that is, I removed a few journals of people who don't appear to update, dropped about half the communities I no longer participate with, and redid the colour shcemes I have for representing different people. Nothing major, and no, you needn't drop a comment asking if I dropped you... I'd much rather you comment here and fill out the quirky letter in a fun and creative way.

So, remember that I went and baked that chocolate cake? With a bit of chilli powder and chocolate chips added to make it a little more nummy? Well, I was taking the last of it up to my room yesterday, and this girl sees me and says, "Ah, so that's your cake. I was wondering who's it was, with that vaguely threatening note..." See, I had it covered in glad wrap on a plate in the fridge, but I put a note on it to discourage any food thieves who might be tempted, it being cake and all. My note said, "DON'T FUCK WITH MY CAKE OR I WILL CUT YOU! Sincerely, Hana x♥x♥"

And y'know what? No one stole any of my cake.

Well! Yesterday was one very long, very cool day.

Got woken up quite early by dad, only, well, it was earlier than necessary but what the hey. I took the time to eat breakfast, anyway. Who knew in the next few hours when I'd next get a decent meal. (Really late, is when...) Anyway, off to some place to grab the flowers, and then dad and Iain dropped me and the flowers off at Suzy's eldest daughter Carla's. The boys then went and did things like fuss over the arrangement of chairs in the church and all that.

As for me... I got to have my hair straigtened, and the ends trimmed even courtesy of Carla the hairstylist. Then Laura, the next oldest daughter, did my nails. It didn't take her very long because my nails are in fairly good condition. Hee. Oh, and through this all we sat around drinking sparkling WHITE wine. Spillage would not be a fiasco. And it wasn't. Anyway, there was a girl over, Hannah, to do make-up but it was easy enough to do my own. The end results were "stunning" according to witnesses.

About 11 or so, I slipped into my (black) dress, did up my (black) fur wrap with a green broach, and put on my (black) shoes...wearing my black and white knee high socks. 'Cause it looked awesome. And I wore the ruby necklace dad gave me for my 21st and a pair of dangly earings with garnets. And when dad finally saw me I asked, "Is this enough colour for you?" because, despite having agreed on the black dress and everything a whole YEAR ago, he wasn't able to visualise how the little bits of colour would be more than adequate in fitting with the theme of things.

So, in the whole whole party of attendants, everyone wore as such: Suzy, the bride, wore a red dress, had a white fur wrap (that she didn't wear down the aisle but was needed in the chilly breezes at the gardens taking pictures) and sparkly whatsit shoes. Dad wore a black tux (long tails at the back, very cool), a red tie.... cowboy hat and possibly cowboy boots. Iain wore a matching tux with a green tie. I stood slightly taller than him in my shoes, hee, and I've already described what I wore.

Carla, Laura, and Rachel--Suzy's girls--wore green dresses...Laura's style was identical to mine, while Rachel and Carla had identical dresses in a strapless style...white fur wraps with broaches like mine, and shoes the same style as mine but goldy/silver instead of black. Savannah, that's Laura's daughter, was in a red dress with a white fur jacket held with a red broach, and shoes in the same style and colour as the girls. She also carried a little bag holding Suzy's glasses and such. Carla's little boy Izayah was in a smart little tux (that he got dirty at the gardens, lol) and he carried the rings. Amarah, only 19 months, was the cutest little thing in her wee red dress and white fur coat.

So we were running a little late trying to get all ready to go to the gardens to take pictures before the wedding. And I was hoping and crossing my fingers that any and all rain would hold the fuck off because my hair, damnit, just got straightened! Anyway, off to the gardens we went.

Well it's a good thing we hit up the Japanese garden first, because it meant we were under shelter when a light rain fell. It stopped, and off to the Chinese garden we went. Yadayadayada...then to the Italian renaissance garden. Iain hadn't actually seen the Indian garden, so he took a wee peek before we hit the Italian garden. That was all well and good, but by then it was 12 something or other and we were hungry. The parentals were taking forever with some set of pictures, and we asked if we were needed or could we bugger off to get some food before the ceremony.

Last thing we needed was a chorus of rumbling tummies from the front of the church in the middle of the wedding. We didn't have time to stop anywhere on the way, but we snuck some food off the afternoon tea tables before we had to go in. And thus...

Music played, everyone stands...the visiting pastor from Suzy's church walked in first, then Iain and me together, followed by Savannah and Izayah, then Carla holding Amarah, followed by Laura, and lastly Rachel. Full minute of music before Dad and Suzy made their entrance together. I think mostly I was interested in the reaction of Eileen when we finally got to the end, 'cause she hadn't seen me all prettied up and was definitely impressed. Big crowd--140-170 or something like that, and there was maybe a handful that I knew so getting reactions from them were the most important. Hee.

The ceremony was good. Enough light moments and not too heavy on the word of God and such... 'cause, nothing against God and all that, but my eyes would have glazed over if one went to far with it. There was this funny story of 'Elain and Roger' while the registry was being signed... Dad and Suzy with Laura and Iain as witnesses--funnily enough both those children are the left handed ones--using MY pen. Hee.

And finally it was all over, and Dad and Suzy...danced down the aisle. It was cool 'cause most the people weren't expecting it. They were surprised, amused, and it brought on applause so hey. Then we followed, stood in a greeting line that took forever... grace was said, the cake cut, and we all dug into the food. Wandered around a fair amount, thankfully no one stood on the back of my dress (a hazard, since it drags on the ground and it happened often enough at the resident's ball last year).

More pictures were taken, including one of me alone showing off my striped stockings. Someone was saying, it was funny when they took the picture of all of us at the alter or whatsit, 'cause we happen to be in very Christmasy colours (it's the middle of winter; it works!) and they even had elf socks thanks to me. Hehe.

I had a headache by the end of it all. Not enough to drink, too much sugar in my system, and I hadn't been wearing my glasses all day. Definitely tired and the headache just made it worse. And then... it was over.

Loaded wedding presents into Rachel's car, she dropped us and the presents off at Dad's while she and Laura and Savannah went home... for all of five minutes Iain and I made an attempt at catalogging what they got and from whom, but it got boring... I did go through all the cards and such, 'cause one thing Suzy and Dad asked for was Farmers vouchers so's they can buy a new fridge. I mean, seriously, they've already got two functional households and don't need a lot of the traditional wedding gifts. Anyway, I added it up... $1040 in Farmers vouchers, $90 in Briscoes, $10 Green Gardens, as well as $105 in cash. PLUS a shit load of other gifts. When I texted that to dad they were speechless... utterly overwhelmed at people's generousity.

And at the end of all this, I ended up going to visit my mate Gino, and we all got indian for tea (chicken tikka masala, mmmm) and went back to watch Extras and some other funny shit. I, apparently, do not exist because I found these GI Joe fake clips funny where most girls think they're just stupid. No, definitely funny. This other girl Evelyn thought so too, but we musn't be true girls or something. Possibly a compliment, or just too good to be true for these poor, sad lads. And Gino confirmed I'm a total geek for having a stick of RAM on a keyring. (I thank [livejournal.com profile] shiseiji for getting me that...)

And by midnight I was asleep.

[livejournal.com profile] leodric_kain requested an icon, so I've got a few he can choose from. And, yeah, you can gack if you feel that way inclined...

Not cutting because it's just six.

Different coloured text to choose from those, and then, I thought, what the hell, some others you might enjoy:

Umm, lemme know if they're worthy or if you'd like different text, colour, background, whatev. Am happy to change anything you don't like.

A week after Ange's birthday bash and again I helped her drink booze. I went over to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (zomg Johnny is the most sinister and hilarious Willy Wonka EVER, and I <3 him) and the Blue Collar Comedy Tour (fucking hilarious--yeah, my word of the day.). Then we started copying a bunch of my CDs on to her comp for her perusal, and tomorrow I'm going back to her place for two things:

1. to straighten my hair again. Whee!
2. to go through her music and make some of my own mixes. Yay!

Righty, dad wants the comp and this was because I said I'd post these tonight for Jas'n. Night y'all.

Journal entry part the first:

Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] pandoras_evil_t!

As if I've not said it enough and didn't help you get trashed on Tuesday.

Journal entry part the second:

I seem to have this quiz result filed away, and I've no idea if I've posted it before. So here it is: (again?) under the cut )

Journal entry part the third:

Note to self--eyebrow piercing out. Nose piercing in. Thank goodness for brothers to bounce ideas off of. Also, that Other Thing is to be considered, along with that Other Little Change that we will not mention in detail until it is certain. And look into cost and artist for The Tattoo am definitely going to get Someday.

Journal entry part the fourth:

Bachelor of Arts as well as Bachelor of Science. Genius. Thank goodness for brothers to bounce ideas off of. Find somewhere to crash in Welly. Don't think about Palmy for now, even though you know you're going back. (I have to to finish my degree at Massey. Damn.)

Journal entry part the fifth:

Hair cut? Dye? Visit to Zuki's? Or ask Carla via Suzy? Think about it.

Journal entry part the sixth:

Saw my Uncle George, cousin Martin, his wife Jenny and their daughter Eleni today. Will also see Aunty Jane when they come back on their way back to Auckland around the 16th if I hang around. (note to self--sort out boxes before this?) They showed up as we were eating our dinner, but they didn't mind. Pictures were taken. Later we went along with them into town where they wanted to eat and spent more time together. Were going to Metropolis, but ended up at the Sahara Tent. V. nice. Had a Steinlager, shared in the entree, and then a double chocolate cheesecake, and half a glass of wine. Also tried a mouthful of Iain's caramal thingy. Also nice.

Journal entry part the seventh:

Dad and Suzy off again this weekend. Iain leaves for Welly tomorrow. Have the house to myself and the animals, 'cause Lin doesn't really count. :P Not sure what mischief to get up to.
