Long time no see

Hi el-jay! I have neglected thee terribly.

Things going on in my life: I bought a new iPad and iPod nano a few weeks ago- the nano since my last mp3 player had stopped playing sound in one headphone (brand new phones) and the iPad was because it's shiny and the games are fun and I love being able to Skype my mum.

Next week my love will finish paying off my engagement ring. I am super excited to be getting it it will be the most valuable piece of jewelry both in sentiment and monetary value that I have ever owned. as much as I love that I am wearing a ring that was his mother's and grandmother's it is a bit small and I was rather set on a ring picked out for me.

It's rugby world cup time, starting just over a week ago. While I don't particularly care for watching the game, I'm all for supporting the all blacks and also hoping USA manages to do well (love that they beat Russia would die of laughter if they beat Aussie). But the coolest thing about the whole thing is that one of my high school buddies who loves rugby came over from the states to see the games... And also, me, lmao. So wrapped to have someone from school come over to nz instead of asking when I'll head stateside. Next step is Rhi and Ash and mum coming over next year for the wedding.

I really need to get that wedding stuff planned lol.

Alan and I finished re-watching all of sg-1 a few weeks ago, and I'm so glad diea has put up with my gushing about it in the past and been watching it (where are you up to now?) although it's been hard to try and avoid spoilers beyond some vague stuff lol. One side effect of this rewatch is a new appreciation for Ba'al and a strong wish that the writers had done more with him, he was probably one of the more layered villains who pushed that whole black and white definition of good and evil. And now I want any and all fanfic related to him even when he's so deliciously evil and cunning that my heart breaks for the other characters.

We also sat down to re-watch generation_kill which has some awesome one-liners and some major wtf moments lol. We also want to get ahold of The Pacific as we really enjoyed Band of Brothers and as I recall it wasn't that bad (plus all the sg-1 and sga fic I read gives me a great appreciation of marines haha).

Gratch is bitching me out, how dare I not refill her bowl as she demands. Also I made fun of her saggy belly earlier and she resents any implication she's a spoiled kitty and possibly overweight lol. I love her so much and her little temper tantrums crack me up hard out.
