Gabriel. You're most like the ArchAngel of
Communication, in charge of things like telephones, libraries, internet, and the 411 phone menu. You're organised and are not shy about inflicting that organisation on others.
Which ArchAngel are you most like?

Today I applied at a rating community that depends entirely upon personality rather than appearance. It's the first one I've actually filled out an application for. *grins* Because I liked the questions...

Name/Age/Location: Hana, 18, Middle of Nowhere (better known as Seabeck), Washington

Interests & hobbies: Reading, taking pictures, dragons, vampires, discussing Lord of the Rings books & movies

Pet peeves: I don't like being interrupted when I'm reading, people who ask me to do things with them last minute, cleaning up other people's messes, and when people don't listen.

Favorite music genre/artists & why: I find most music enjoyable, from instrumental pieces from movie soundtracks to opera like Andrea Bocelli, stuff from the 60's and 70's, and Queen, to bands like Greenday, Everclear, or Bright Eyes. Oftentimes, it's the combination of music and lyrics--especially lyrics--that appeals to me, rather than the artist.

Least favorite music genre/artists & why: I'm not overly fond of country, jazz, or hip-hop/rap. Too much country gets on my nerves, while jazz grates the ear, and hip-hop gives me a headache. I also don't like nearly every second song beind derogatory towards women. Not that I'm an ultra-femininist, but I find such lyrics disrespectful.

Favorite authors and/or books & why: I'm into so many sci-fi/fantasy series I could hardly list them all. Anne McCaffrey's work is pure genius, as is J.R.R. Tolkien's. My lastest favorite is Terry Goodkind and the Sword of Truth series, but I absolutely adore Terry Pratchett's Discworld books.

Least favorite authors and/or books & why: The Great Gatsby. Maybe it was Carraway's narrative, or I'm simply not interested in the way people lived in the Roaring 20's. *shrugs* I did not enjoy that book at all.

Favorite movies & why: Equilibrium, because it has better fight scenes than the Matrix, and is utterly suspenseful; Snatch, because Brit movies rock, and Brad Pitt speaks Pikey; From Dusk 'Till Dawn, because it's so utterly violent and has Quentin Tarantino; also, Bandits and Ocean's Eleven, because they involve highly successful and clever thefts of large amounts of money.

Least favorite movies & why: Again, the Great Gatsby for the same reasons; Mission: Impossiple II, because it was too much like a soap opera rather than suspense; and D.N.A., because it was like a rip-off of Predator, and ten times worse.

Where did you hear about us: I was looking on crashandburnup's profile and saw she belonged.

Why should you be accepted?: I should be accepted because this is the first rating community I've applied to. There's nothing quite like boosting someone's ego so she can feel even worse when the next community rejects her.

What are your best & worst qualities?: Best... I'm loyal to my friends, and will try my best to help them when they're down; worst... sometimes I don't express myself enough and people think I'm insensitive and apathetic.

Passcode: bitter after taste of rejection

Opinions -

Women being required to register for the draft: There is no reason women should be exempt from the draft. It may be illegal for them to face direct combat (not that it doesn't happen anyway), but that doesn't mean they're any less capable of serving the nation in times of conflict.

Cloning: Good health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die. We're only meant to live for so long. We shouldn't be messing with genes to try and fix things we barely understand simply because someone's organs have started to fail. Quit trying to "improve" life medically, and start improving lifestyles.

Labels: They can't be avoided. Sometimes they're good, sometimes they're bad. People make judgements because of labels, but then people are always making judgements. Labels also help us identify those like us, so we feel less alone.

Online/Long distance relationships: An online/long distance relationship should be the last test of a relationship. Long distance can make or break the relationship. If the couple is able to withstand that absense, perhaps they will have a better chance of being together for a very long time.

Love: That word is overused. I think it needs to be taken out of the English language. We need different words, like the Greeks--they had three words for love, depending on the kind of love. The way "love" is used today, it has become as casual as sex, and just about as meaningless.

Just for the hell of it -

If you had to choose, would you abort your fetus or crush the head of an innocent, cute puppy with a sledgehammer? Why? I would abort the fetus. I am 18, and I have no intentions of having children before I'm 25. I am in no position to be raising a child, nor would I care to put it up for adoption when there are so many children from other countries in need of homes. Besides, puppies are less maintainence and easier to give away.

What makes a person beautiful? A person is beautiful if she carries herself with grace, has obvious inner strength and compassion, and manages to capture hearts simply with her presence, rather than her appearance. (I use her in the sense that I assigned a gender simply to keep from having to write he or she and his or her in order to be grammatically correct.)

If you had to lose two of your senses, which would you choose? Why? I would sacrifice my eyesight, so I no longer had to see the horrors bestowed upon this world. I would give up my sense of taste, because food is fuel; I don't need to like it, I just have to eat it.
