I spend the latter half of the afternoon/early evening with Grant yesterday. Despite the awful weather, and the fact that he's been working a lot and was tried and a little scruffy... I felt slightly guilty at dragging him around and monopolising his time, but he said he didn't mind. It was still a pleasant time, in which we wandered through at least four bookstores, one or two CD places, and Toyworld. Plus a walk along the waterfront.

And this was well, although conversation was difficult around Lambton Quay with the busses, the music blaring out of stores, and the construction work. But, well, we did end up in quieter places where conversation needn't be conducted at the top of our lungs.

We also saw the sister of one of his ex-girlfriends, one he's still on good terms with. She had very pretty red hair... but then, there was the other ex we passed in the street. She looked awfully smug, and I can't imagine why, unless it had absolutely nothing to do with us. Somewhat eerie that we should pass her again later, in a different part of town. Especially as Grant had seen her maybe three times in the last year, and then twice in one day whilst in my company. Would have been funnier if the second time was while with another female friend, leaving her confused as to just who the hell he was with.

I had a craving for fish'n'chips, so we had that for tea and a drink at the Irish pub. All very well and good and he walked me home afterwards. It was an enjoyable evening, and I'm glad that we can spend time together without having "hiding from the world for a wee while" ~my euphemism that [livejournal.com profile] diea rather likes. ;)

Anyway, offskis now.

So I found someone using this icon made by [livejournal.com profile] aom_leicon:

Ahahahaha. Burns!Lestat ftw. The other icon I like is this one, seen in the posession of [livejournal.com profile] flusterdance:

BBQ at Grants on Saturday was nice. His friend Bret was there, so I at least knew more than Grant and his flatmates... Although Bret, Grant and I ended up migrating to his room to browse all sorts of music since we weren't really drunk, smokers, or interested in the rather loud music they were playing. And after Bret left, Grant and I sort of hid from the world for a wee while.

Oh, shit!

[livejournal.com profile] diea I'm sorry! I completely spaced, and here's why:

Thursday, Pat hands me this ticket to the 80's Prom at The Establishment that this radio station was throwing. Anyway, said 80's Prom was last night. So cue rearranging my whole day around getting set up for that.

Not to mention last week I got moved out of my room for a little bit and it was time to move everything back. And get it just the way it was before. Anyway, I kept my online forays to a short spate in the morning, rather than afternoon. :(

Then there was a trip to my brother's. I had a couple reasons to, for instance, we hadn't seen each other since coming back from the wedding about a month ago. Also, I had a bunch of CDs there and it was killing me to get songs stuck in my head and not have the CDs to listen to and get said songs OUT of my head. And then there was the fact I needed to grab a few choice items to create the perfect 80's look.

Anyway, the afternoon was spent doing laundry. And fussing with my CDs to find that perfect order for them. Hence, not online to chat with [livejournal.com profile] diea. (Ooops! I feel so bad that I forgot.) I was very distracted and excited about the 80's Prom though. The German girl Katja was going with me, too. So, sorting out my outfit and making sure I had clean clothes, yada yada yada...

Cooking tea (one of my better meals) and reassuring Katja that she had plenty of time to get ready. I hung out with Glenn for a bit, even fooled around online and sent a link off to [livejournal.com profile] blue_raven that I thought she'd like. About 8:30 and I got around to doing my make-up: oodles of green eye shadow and red lipstick...

So, outfit was: the black and white stripey socks, witch's shoes, short black skirt with studs down the side, white tank top with long sleeved green mesh thingy and little white overtop thingy that goes with the tank top (I'm not very good at explaining, but I have posted pictures of the combo before...not with the mesh, but ultimately, the effect was very 80's-esque). I also had a sideways ponytail held by a green scrunchy, long dangly earrings (not plastic, alas, but still, helped) and my black wool hat. [livejournal.com profile] shiseiji ought to know the one I'm talking about. It was perfect. Plus there was my leather jacket which gave it a sort of Top Gun effect.

So yeah, we got there, got our wee vouchers for one free drink... and holy mother of fuck was there a lot of girls. Like... mostly girls. Very few boys. Even fewer who could have been both cute and single (I was looking for Katja's sake, honest! :P) and likely to notice one girl out of the multitudes. Eh, bien...

The music was good. While many who were there couldn't possibly have been able to remember the 80's, it was still... interesting. Time flew, really, and before I realised, it was midnight. Our Prom Prince was some random guy, no idea who, I mostly remember that our Prom Princess was a man dressed as a woman. :D

About then I asked Katja if we could leave, 'cause my feet were killing me. And of we went, me hobbling more than walking. So, good girl that I am, I was in bed by 1, heh. And woke up with my alarm at 8, refreshed and ready to face a new day.

And later today I'm off to a BBQ at Grant's flat. That shall be interesting, to say the least. Plus, y'know, reasonably assured of sex at some point afterwards. :P And that's all that matters.

So, not only did I have a crazy dream about a live-action Ronin Warriors movie (along with other random superheroes, wtf), but I dreamt about looking it up on IMDB for more information. And that the movie was called "Like Us"...and yeah. Crazy, confusing, weird. And that's just one of my dreams, the one I can remember 'tany rate.

I missed seeing LJ all Talk Like a Pirate-y with ships and eye patches and whatever else they did. I was hanging out with Grant. His flat is having a BBQ on Saturday that I'm going to as well. Yay.

I was walking back to my place yesterday and I got wolf-whistled at from a passing van. *was amused* It's been a while since that's happened. I also wasn't surprised, considering I was wearing a short skirt, knee-high socks, and had my hair down since I straightened it on Thursday.

Drank a bunch of bourbon and coke with Glenn and Paul... possibly volunteered to be a cook/bartenter/slave on a sailing expedition. Forgot to have dinner. Had fun watching Distraction UK. Good show, that.

Seeing Grant today. Hopefully he's feeling better--he was a bit depressed about Thursday's playreading. It's gotta be hard, sharing his creation like that and having them tell him what's wrong with it.

Switched in new icons. Again.

Went to a play-reading last night. That was interesting. Felt rather bad for Grant, 'cause it was his play...like, the first time it was being read by other people, and critiqued... I don't think I could do it, on the off chance I ever wrote a play. And then there was the... gah. It was really funny. Even if I hadn't been familiar with Fitz, Alex, and Enderby, I would have been laughing my arse off just the same.

I do understand that it does need to be cut, in order to fit into a certain length of time. And even that whole scenes could be dropped and others reduced. In some parts, it would improve the play, because good as it was, there were moments when my eyes were starting to glaze over. Still, it was awfully hard on Grant, having his baby poked and prodded and laid open like that.

And then there was this stupid, stupid thing... see, the whole point of the play is just that it's a comedy, something funny involving some of Grant's beloved characters from other media. But because it's a New Zealand play, it's like, they think there should be some deeper meaning/message/commentary that people are supposed to take away with them. Which is stupid. I like it best as merely a funny play, and sure it lightly touches on animal rights (two of the main characters are a bunny and a hedgehog, for gossakes), and politics (she runs for Prime Minister!*), but, ultimately, it's just a very funny play about a 2' tall evil cute pink bunny who not only makes ambitious plans but gets away with them. But of course that's just too simple for some idiotic literary snobbish pricks.

*This isn't particularly spoilery, since it happened in the comics which have been running for 13 years. In fact, many of the scenes and situations brought up in the play were familiar territory for anyone who's read Brunswick. But at the same time, it's a whole new media and story, like out of some parallel universe or something.

Anyway, I had a good time, and we went out for drinks after... ended up at the Sports Bar where Grant's flatmate's band Uncle Monkey... or was it Monkey's Uncle? Uncle Monkey. Anyway, they were performing. Quite good. They did this Cat Steven's song, and the guy singing sounded JUST like Cat Stevens. It was cool.

"We" being Grant, me, Amy that I met last Saturday, her cousin Daniel, and another friend of Grant's, Bret. It was interesting 'cause I discussed hair straightening with Daniel--he works at Whitcoull's, and he called them out when they said he could wear anything to work, even a dress, and he wears a dress to work... well, he's got quite curly hair and he's growing it out, but they won't let him wear the dress and also have long curly hair. So he's seeking advice concerning straightening his hair.

Bret is a big sci-fi fan, so I talked a lot about that with him, not to mention, he's seen Firefly and Serenity. We were laughing about some fandoms where we've never actually seen/read much of the original material, but through a sort of osmosis of being around fans, picked up a whole lot of information and such. Plus there was the sharing of stuff that I didn't know about, or he didn't know much about, that sort of thing.

Oh, I completely forgot to mention that I met Amy. Um, when I was over at Grant's on Saturday. We drank wine and ate cheese, and Amy came over for a bit. Nice girl, very Fitz-like. She's done some of the vocals for the animated version of Brunswick, including Fitz. After she'd left, I got to see Rocky Horror Picture Show for the first time. Very amused. Much love for Tim Curry.

Eeee! Junpei! It's been a while. Much, much love for the l33t n1nj4... man I hate using l33t.

In other news, I'm slowly but surely working on the other prompts. I'm kind of hung up on one from [livejournal.com profile] simple__man that's begging to be writ but not being nice and short. But still, will hopefully get them finished in the next few days.

Yesterday was simply an utterly gorgeous day outside. Lovely bright blue skies, great big burning thing that shone ALL DAY... yeah, it was nice. Funny to see all the people outside, soaking it up.

Anyway, met up with Grant at about two. First we wandered into the art gallery, 'cause it's free and something simple to do. Plus, y'know, all the artwork to comment on. That didn't take up much time, though, so we headed out to the waterfront to enjoy the sunshine and just sat and talked for a while. It's nice 'cause he's got the quiet, soothing voice that makes me want to talk softly in reponse, and that we're sort of conspiring together about something that not everyone is fit to overhear.

It's so nice 'cause most guys who approach me are either half-drunk dunderheads, or strangely creepy people I can't wait to get away from. And he's neither. Very glad about that. I mean, when we talked on Friday, and he said he'd emailed this lady who'd published this book of comics and he said he felt like such a fanboy all happy-giddy when she emailed him back. He called himself a fanboy. How cool is that?!

It got a bit cold sitting on the waterfront, so we took a walk through the park, and then made our way to Fidel's on Cuba Street 'cause I felt like coffee. And cake. Chocolate cake with a bit of yogurt. Mmm. More talking while drinking, and then more wandering and such 'til he walked me back to the place I'm staying at.

It's really cool. I like that we could talk for three hours without boring each other. I like that I didn't end up dominating the conversation like usually happens when boys are chatting me up and asking question after question. I like that he's articulate and knows all sorts of interesting stuff, and really importantly, is so not creepy.

Seeing him again Sunday.

So, I had this dream. Well, you know me--I dream, or rather, I remember my dreams in fairly vivid detail quite often. Well, there was one I had last night that I found rather strange. Not as in, it was so totally on crack strange, but more... well, it was just kinda odd. Now in my dream, it was Wednesday and I'd gone to meet up with Grant (because we are, in fact, going to meet up tomorrow and figure out "something social to do..." *snickers* I love me some gutter mind at a time like this), although in my dream we met up in the evening, not the afternoon as is currently planned. And that was going well. Whatever it was we ended up doing, we were enjoying ourselves.

And then, we're walking along fairly aimlessly in The City* when Aston shows up. I'm all, "Oh my God! What're you doing here?!" And, like, these friends of Grant's show up and they all already know Aston--in my dream I wasn't surprised, because Aston could be quite loud and memorable from our stints out on the town with all Rowena's Crew, way back in February and March.

*The City is not an actual town, really, but rather my mind's strange culmulation of city-esque features and I dream of this place often, sort of like when I dream about old schools or houses that aren't quite as they are in reality, but my brain has twisted them somehow. So, we were in The City, and all that jazz...

Now, somehow I'd hurt my knee and Grant had wrapped it up in a bandage... and this group of us are just sitting and standing around on this footpath and I decide to go over and talk to Aston. I want to ask him all sorts of questions like, had he gone to the World Cup in Germany? What's he been up to these last months? And why the hell is he still in NZ? I had a drink with me, just a glass of water, but I spilled it and I sat down and got my bandage soaked. "Shit," I said. And he asks in this annoyed/bitter tone, "Why do I always have to take care of you?"

Well, I'm hurt. And confused. I reply a tad defensively, "I have never asked you to take care of me. I'm not asking you to now." I decided that if he was going to be like that, bugger trying to caatch up,a nd i walk off through the groupe to find Grant again, since he's bound to be better company than an old fling being a prick for no reason.

So that was my dream. Weird shit.

Okay, so that movie is out today. Down here. But I will probably wait 'til Tuesday to see it. But it shall be awesome if I can. 'Specially after what [livejournal.com profile] diea told me. Hehehehehe.

Anyway, yesterday I was at the library in the morning, but it was just so sunny and nice that I had to talk a walk along the waterfront and stuff...but later in the afternoon, I did go back to the library and I happened to settle down on the same couch I'd been sitting on in the morning, although with a different book. Well, this guy approaches me and felt the need to come up and say 'hi, couldn't help but notice you're in the same spot now that I saw you in four hours ago have you been here this whole time?' and it was just kinda weird, but funny, and he wasn't creepy.

I got kind of distracted at one point, 'cause I happened to look over and see, of all people, this girl from Palmy that used to make me think of [livejournal.com profile] mikazuki. I mean, they don't even look alike, and the girl I'm pretty sure is English, but for some reason last year she used to give me Cori-vibes. Ehhh. I was surprised to see her, but couldn't say anything 'cause this other guy Grant was talking to me.

Also, when I was out on my walk along the waterfront, I got a bit of a fright when I felt the shockwave and then heard the bang of a cannon. Well, up on this bluff they were doing 21 guns for the signing of the Governer-General or somesuch. Didn't know it was going to happen but was kinda cool to see and really fun to feel the shock of each shot.

Glenn, the guy who looks after the place I'm staying at, said to me that if I washed this huge pile of dirty dishes in the kitchen, he and Grant (not the same Grant from the library) would make me a chocolate cake. He was saying it kind of in jest, but I said, "All right, you're on," and washed all those dishes. But it turns out, the cake is not made, but still in it's box. He gives me the box of cake mix and three eggs.

...okay, slight problem where there's no cake tin and I also need a measuring cup... so off to the supermarket I go with intent to buy a disposable cake tin, but they didn't have on and a non-stick thing was only $5. I also got some chocolate chips and some chilli powder, for added fun. If you've never tried it, do, because chocolate and chilli actually make a delicious combination.

So I mix up the cake and everything. It's Betty Crocker Devil's Food and on the box it says there's ready made frosting, right? But... there was no frosting. Fuckers. I'm going to call them about it, too, 'cause it's all over the box that there should be. I ended up melting some more chocolate chips and spreading that on top of the cake instead, but damnit, there should have been frosting.

Well, since Glenn and Grant did not, in fact, make me the chocolate cake, I have every intention of teasing Glenn about it... like, sit there eating some and say, "MMmm, this cake's delicious, Glenn. Oh, you want some? But you didn't make it! Oh no, that'll be a bourbon and coke for each slice, thanks." :P I'll make him pay, anyway, 'cause I know he wants some.

Hee.

...in which [livejournal.com profile] murkeye, [livejournal.com profile] shiseiji & I shared a bed. *grins* And because Rhibber wanted some lime chicken, we all went to some chinese takeaways place, but Rhi didn't have enough money. She wouldn't let us buy her the food either. So then we got into Ash's car and drove off to one of my old schools. Then we lost Ash as she had to go do something while Rhi and I went to check out all these cool castle things that formed the new playground this school had. And then I lost Rhi and found myself wandering a dirt track, alone, trying to find them again... *cries*

...in which there were red and yellow white-tipped spiders with cameras on them running around the ladie's lavs. I had to pee and I was too scared. There was also something about spaceships and something vaguely Star Trekkie about this dream.

...in which [livejournal.com profile] diea left a joke as a comment on my lj, which [livejournal.com profile] pandoras_evil_t responded to with some joke about Adam (as in, Adam and Eve) and Sorcha replied to it. I can't quite remember either joke now, but however funny they were in my dream... I don't think they were actually that funny. Anywho, [livejournal.com profile] chaosvizier left a comment saying that one of the jokes was actually a quote in tomorrow's [livejournal.com profile] ljdq with a link to the post (despite the fact it hadn't been posted yet. Wtf?). I was left wondering how the hell [livejournal.com profile] chaosvizier found my lj when I don't do the ljdq (I lack the funny) or leave comments there. And also how it was suddenly Monday already. (Or Tuesday, rather, since I'm a day ahead.)

In other news, there is a guy currently infatuated with me. This is bad as A) I'm not the slightest bit attracted to him, B) it's totally infatuation, and C) he's already got a girlfriend so WTF is he doing getting infatuated with me? *hides behind school books* Go away go away go away you silly boy.

Boy 1: I fucking hate these stupid adhesive seals they put on CDs.
Boy 2: I dunno. I kinda like them.
Boy 1: Why?
Boy 2: Expending all that effort to get the seal off makes the music that much more enjoyable once you finally get the CD out of the jewel case.
Boy 1: Kinda like taking off a girl's bra?
Boy 2: Yeah, except CDs don't start giggling if it takes you more then fifteen seconds.

I had a very hard time not doing just that this weekend... It was cool to see Aston, and Darren, and the rest of the group. Those two and Milan are gone now. Paul leaves in a week and a half. There's fewer and fewer of the original group. Sad, in a way. Although of course they had to move on eventually.
I've remembered, by the by, what I meant to write up in an entry last week. I needed to go into Studylink, but I'd never been in there before. I knew just whereabouts it was, so on the Thursday I went there. Turns out I needed to go back again on Friday as well. Thing was, on Friday, I couldn't find it again. It was like those disappearing shops, Est Ages and all that. I knew I had to walking right past it, more than once. And finally I did see it, but it was weird how I couldn't find it to begin with.
Last night I dreamt about eating raw snake. Cobra to be precise. It didn't taste all that bad, and it was even better cooked. What a strange mind I have.

Interview Meme.
001. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
002. I will respond by asking you five questions of a very intimate and creepily personal nature. Or not so creepy/personal.
003. You WILL update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
004. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
005. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

Questions from my goddess [livejournal.com profile] virginhuntress.

001. What is your favorite thing about living in NZ?
My favourite thing about living in New Zealand is the food. Particularly mince and cheese pies, and all the different Cadbury chocolate bars. Vegemite, weet-bix... stuff that I couldn't get in the States. It's just different here, and I like it so much better.

002. What is your ideal career?
My ideal career... I don't know. I wish I could be an explorer on alien planets. That would be cool. Unfortunately, unrealistic at this point in time. What I really want to be is a zoologist and entomologist. Animals and bugs. I'm not so fascinated by bugs, except there are so many of them and they have their uses. Mostly it's animals I love studying though.

003. How were you first introuduced to the world of slash?
My very first piece of slash I ever read was some RPS: Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez from *Nsync. But I didn't really get into it until [livejournal.com profile] shiseiji got me fixed on Ronin Warriors, and the yaoi therin. And finally, out of sheer randomness, I decided Remus Lupin and Sirius Black were meant to be a couple, and went in search of fic.

004. As an avid bookreader (like myself), what are you top 3 favorite novels and why?
This one is hard. I've read and enjoyed soooo many books.

I think one of my favourites is Nimisha's Ship by Anne McCaffrey. It's sci-fi, my usual genre, and McCaffrey happens to be one of my favourites. I like this one best because it's just a stand alone novel, not part of any of her other series (except, sort of, the Coelura). And Nimisha is a smart, pretty heiress who is no Paris Hilton. She builds space ships, and tests them out... and she rises to the challenge of surviving and exploring when she gets sucked into an uncharted wormhole and spat out at the ass end of the galaxy.

Another favourite is Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind. I like the whole series it belongs to. I get hopelessly attached to certain characters. I love how sarcastic the main chracter, Richard is. I like that when Richard and Kahlan fall in love, it doesn't alter their personalities drastically like what happens to some characters in other novels I can think of (who end up brainless twits that I want to smack just because omg twu wuv).

Lastly, I'm quite attached to The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice. I like that second novel moreso than Interview with the Vampire--although still a good novel and all that--just because Lestat is such a... Brat Prince. I love him. I love those first two books he narrates. *nods*

005. What is a hobby/talent that you have that you keep to yourself?
Oooh, making me reveal something I've been keeping hidden. Okay, I have this tendency, when given graph paper, to design the layouts of houses. I'll even draw in furniture and label the rooms. I'll have a key for objects that it's not readily apparent what it's supposed to be. I've also done a couple castles. I just have this strong desire to make a visual representation of a home I daydream about. Or sometimes it's to remember something so when I (finally) get the Sims 2, I can design the house in a neighborhood. I swear I have just as much fun designing the houses as playing with the characters (especially with the money cheat so cost doesn't matter).

Oh that was a cute fwd to show up in my inbox.
So I was in the library last night, just reading a book before I visited the group at Rowena's. And I was enjoying the book, but at the same time I kept thinking, "I should go, I should go, I'm gonna be there really late if I wait 'til I finish this book." Finally, I put the book down and head to Rowena's.
And I'm walking along Courtney Place, which has quite the crowd. Even for a Tuesday night that place doesn't lack for people out on the town. So, I'm walking, wondering who'll be at Rowena's, or if it will be dead, and I noticed there was someone walking some ways ahead of me, and all I can see is the back of his head. It could have been a her, with the hair being shoulder length, but it made me think of Darren. But it couldn't possibly be Darren. Darren left with Party Mike weeks ago. He's miles away.
...isn't he?
I couldn't figure out who he was walking with. But that head of hair looked like Darren's. And he had glasses. I figured, at least, I could have a glance when I caught up. Well, just as I caught up, they happened to stop. I recognised his companion; it was Julian a.k.a. Trout (as opposed to French Julien). And it really was Darren.
Nobody told me he was back!!!!!
Okay, he just got back Monday, but still. It was really cool to run into him there, because otherwise I wouldn't have seen him before the weekend. He wasn't even going to be around for the weekend, except everyone's remembered the huge fuss Aston's made over St. George's Day. Gotta be around for that. AND it's Milan's last weekend--he and Aston leave on Monday. (Aston gets back from the South Islan on Thursday) And I guess Darren will leave after the weekend as well.
Anyway, chatted with Darren and Julian for a bit, then went to the hostel. Talked to Brian, and Conor when she showed up. Then Conor left to hang out with Paul at his work. I got distracted watching House, but then I joined the lads in the dining room until 11 something.
And what do you know, I was heading back to the train station, along Courtney Place, and I ran into Darren and Julian again. So we chatted some more. Tried to figure out who was stalking whom. They'd just watched Keeping Mum. I might have gone to see it with them except it's the old, "I can't afford the movies if I want booze for the weekend" type deal. And I do want to drink this weekend.
I lost my watch somewhere during the night.
There was a Rolling Stones concert last night... could hear it halfway across town practically. By the time I left Darren and Julian, the concert had ended. I found myself walking against the crowd as I headed to the train station. It was full of people. Kind of funny given the time of night, and it was busier than rush hour (I felt really sorry for the ladies in line to the toilets... it was a very long line).
I haven't eaten all my Easter chocolate yet. Tempting, but I haven't. A good reason to come into town, even though I'm on "study" break... to keep from eating all the chocolate. That, and I finally got to read "...And then he ate my boy entrancers." Which is the sixth Georgia Nicolson book, and the only one I don't currently own.
Yay.

This is somewhat embarrassing, but nonetheless.

Are you sure you want to see this? )

It is most definitely autumn here, and the weather is turning shite. Cold and wet. Thankfully I haven't got sick yet.

Back in January I was at my mate Gino's 21st, and I sorta hooked up with one of his mates, Bjiorn. Bjiorn lives here in Wellington, and there was sort of the chance that when I came down he and I could meet up again, and all that. But when I got here, well, I thought maybe he might have forgotten about me, and so I never texted him. Also I met Carl, so I got busy getting the most out of what little time he and I would have together.

Well Carl's been in the South Island just over a week now, but this weekend I got texted by Bjiorn. He was up in Hamilton, I think he'd been hoping to meet up again, but he hadn't known I'm down in Wellington now. Still, he said he'd text me when he got back to Wellington so we might actually hook up again. The thing is, I know Carl is going to be in Wellington four a couple of days around the 23rd of April, so I'm sort of hoping for one last sh'bang with him before he's gone forever. At the same time I'm contemplating pursuing things with Bjiorn.

What a slag.

Also, the random girl from the library--her name is Chantelle--remmbered my username and left a comment. This is good. I have emailed her now. She's tres cool.

[livejournal.com profile] diea... I read your entry... <3 <3 <3 I love you. You almost made me cry. In a good way. Much, much love. <3

I'm hungry. I want lunch. But I'm talking to Judah and I don't want to go just yet. Shut up stomach!

Huge meme so here I am to save your f-list )

Would do the wiki meme but Wikipedia is broken.

I just had the nicest drinking fountain water ever. It was all cold, like... icy cold... just been chillin' for the last several hours cold... soooo good and purified cold. Best. Ever. I want more. I want to fill my drink bottle with it, but, yeah, didn't bring my drink bottle with me.

It's pissing down with rain. For the most part, the weather has been quite lovely while I've been here. But not for the last few days. It blows. I don't like walking around in a cold wet city. :( And I can't see anything out of the train windows when it's raining.

Oh, yes. I was staying at the backpackers, but Dad came down last week with a bunch of Iain's stuff and some of my stuff. Some of it is still being stored at Iain's, but some of it is now at dad's friend Catherine's. She lives in Lower Hutt (err, sorta the Petone area if you know anything about there) and she's offered to let me stay with her while I flat hunt. Not only is it cheaper than the backpackers, but I get cooked dinners every night, and she does my washing. (She'd do my ironing too, 'cept I don't iron anything even if it really ought to be.)

It was kinda freaky hanging up three weeks worth of laundry on the line. There were a lot of socks and a lot of panties. Looked kinda strange next to her granny panties (well, she is a granny) I'm sure. I wonder what Aston would have made of all that lace...

Aston has a really big thing for sexy underwear. And my corset. Of course. I'm sure he'd die if I had thigh high stockings as well. *whistles innocently*

St. Paddy's day I guess we weren't quiet enough, 'cause Paul, who has the room next to Aston, heard us. Which meant I got a text from Craig on Saturday night asking me about it. I guess it's a good thing I wasn't at the hostel on Saturday night 'cause Aston was really, really pissed. I heard about it from James (I forgot to mention James--he's another of the group). It was, apparently, amusing as hell, but also getting to the point of annoying them. They were trying to figure out a way to lose him before they went into town. No such luck, though.

I stopped by the hostel yesterday after class. Poor Brian. When I left Saturday morning he and Conor were out on the deck, STILL drinking... he was totally sloshed. Conor couldn't remember seeing me in Seam earlier in the night, in fact, I think Darren and James are probably the only ones who really registered I was there. Even Aston didn't remember me there, and it was only after he lost everyone and was texting to find out were everyone was that we met up... and Paul heard us.

Anyway, Brian drank so much that he got really sick. He started feeling pain, sorta in the vicinity of his liver. That's gotta suck. He's still recovering, by drinking plenty of water. And holding off the alcohol, probably until a while after this weekend.

Canada tried to give Aston a wedgie on Friday night, and ripped the elastic off my boy's pants. Conor wore it as a necklace the rest of the night and all day Saturday at the cricket match. And Canada has taken to calling me Crazy, which isn't all that original, but I've had worse. I don't really like being around him when he's drunk, but he is amusing in small doses.

Who knows what sort of crazy shit we're likely to get up to next Friday... It kinda sucks, though. Darren and Mike have left. Canada's going soon. Aston, Neriss, and a couple others are all leaving in two weeks. I wish I'd got to be with the group for longer. But, hey, I'll remember the good times that we did have, and all that.

I forgot to mention yesterday, go to www.fletch.cx and click on "Rowena's Posse" and you'll see plenty of pics of the group I'm in. "Party! Oriental Bay" also has quite a few. None of me yet, but there ought to be some more soon, of the posse and of the house party we were at, which, by the by, had proper bloody security at the door. I can't remember if I mentioned. Anyway, have a look through there, it's Paul's thing...

Not that I reckon you care all that much...

Somewhere there exists a picture of me at the party with Carl, and it rather embarrasses him 'cause he's quite the private person, and it's a "about to kiss her" type of pic...

Edit: Here. Milan, Aston (with the LiveStrong bracelet), Party Mike, and Johnny.

Okay, since I have left for Wellington...

-I lost my emo glasses. Boo.
-[livejournal.com profile] iowabound had a baby. Congrats!
-My dad's good friend Ratu was killed in a car accident. Le sigh.
-[livejournal.com profile] ishimish had a birthday. Happy crotchdropping day!
-suffered my first hangovers. Damn
-scored with a british boy. Yay!

His name is Carl, but everyone calls him Aston Villa. He's from Birmingham. Brown eyes, brown hair (the tips are blonde), about 6 feet I guess, and 22 years old. He's not the hottest thing to walk the earth, but he sure isn't breaking any mirrors either. Well... maybe with his voice. He's one of those natrually loud people.
I know I told [livejournal.com profile] shiseiji last Friday that I quite fancied this boy Darren... but then Carl returned on that Sunday and, well... Darren never appeared to fancy me very much anywho. It's rather cool, I started talking to Darren a couple of days into my coming to this place, and suddenly found myself integrated into this large group of folks who've all been together a month or more. Even Canada took a liking to me, and he rather despises kiwi girls. I'm playing up my half-bredness. I'm also sounding less American, particularly when drunk, as I pick up on the Brit's accent. Or, hell, one time I was talking to John, who's Irish, and saying things with the Irish accent almost. Actually, let me go over the group...
There's Eric (Canada), John (Horse), Craig (Craig David), Neriss, Carl (Aston), Darren (Jesus), Paul, Connor, Brian, Vince (Milan, or Vincent Vegas), Mike (Party Mike), and, um, there was also these guys Johnny and Valentine, but they've left. Anyway, Neriss and Connor are the only girls, so they appreciate having another girl around to talk girl talk. I'm the youngest, though. Neriss, John, or Canada is the oldest. Not sure which.
Craig and Canada are in competition over pulling girls... I think Craig is in the lead after getting two girls in one night. There was supposed to be lots of points if any of them scored with the twin sister of Milan's gf. It was their 20th last night, and we all went. I ended up dragging my boy off some time before two, since despite my being smashed, I seemed to realise that if I didn't do something he'd get kicked out anyway. Still, got teased for it this morning, didn't I?
Anyway, am alive, doing all right, school is school, as per usual, and flat hunting blows chunks... but is necessary. Lemme know what you're up to, 'cause I'm bound to miss stuff even if I hit up the f-list.

Still alive; rather busy. I'll play catch up later. Miss talking to you guys though.

Great thing about staying at a backpacker's lodge: lots of foreign boys. *laughs*

Blah blah blah scum people blah blah blah...

Me: "...just so long as he doesn't make a pass at you!"

Ange: "If he does, I'll take away his ability to ever pleasure a woman!"

"What, you'll cut out his tongue?"

"...and his ability to procreate."

"Good woman."
